LGBTQIA+ rights are #humanrights. 🌈✊ We are really proud to be a part of the campaign #FundOurFutures, launched by the Global Philanthropy Project at the close of the Global LGBTI Funding Summit in Cape Town, South Africa. 💬From November 9 to 11, we gathered to discuss strategies to promote equality and inclusive development for LGBTQIA+ people, along with other organizations, communities and movements in the funding ecosystem around the world🌍🐝. Last week, Global Philanthropy Project launched the Fund Our Futures campaign to raise $150 million in new funding for global LGBTI movements amid rising anti-rights backlash and dramatic shifts in the philanthropic and development assistance landscape. Funders for LGBTQ Issues is proud to be a Fund Our Futures campaign partner. The campaign calls on all donors to step up and protect hard-won LGBTI funding levels, and commit to increase and improve resources for the years ahead. The Equality Fund has pledged USD 5.7M to the Global Philanthropy Project’s Fund Our Futures Campaign. 🌈💪 This commitment is part of a powerful global alliance of feminist and human rights funders who’ve come together with USD 100M of funding over the next three years to support LGBTI rights amidst rising anti-rights backlash. Attacks on LGBTI people are worsening around the world and are an affront to human dignity and human rights, democratic values and democratic institutions. At the Ford Foundation, we are following the lead of our courageous, visionary partners in LGBTI communities as we work to eliminate inequality and support inclusion for all. We are proud to share our $10M commitment to the Global Philanthropy Project’s Fund Our Futures Campaign.
