🌞 Bangladesh's Solar Revolution: Over 6 Million Solar Home Systems Installed! 🌱🔋 #Bangladesh continues to lead in renewable energy by installing over 6 million Solar Home Systems, providing clean electricity to approximately 12% of its population, particularly in off-grid rural areas. In 2023, the country achieved a record addition of 42.04 MW from net-metered and non-net-metered rooftop #solar systems—the highest annual increase since the first installation in 2012. This surge underscores Bangladesh's commitment to expanding its #renewable #energy #capacity. Innovations like SOLshare's peer-to-peer electricity trading networks are further transforming energy access. By enabling households to buy and sell excess solar electricity, these smart village grids enhance energy efficiency and foster economic empowerment. Bangladesh's journey offers #valuable #lessons for countries aiming to expand energy access through sustainable solutions.
