🌍 Exciting strides toward a sustainable future! The Global Renewables Alliance is driving the call for #3xRenewables and 2x Energy Efficiency—a vision we at the Global Solar Council are proud to stand behind. Special thanks to Huawei for their support as sponsors at GRA/COP. Their commitment to renewable energy solutions reflects the kind of innovation and leadership our industry needs. We look forward to growing this partnership and accelerating the global clean energy transition together! ⚡☀️ #3xRenewables #Time4Action #NowDeliverChange
🌦️ Huawei champions action on #3xRenewables by pioneering the world’s largest hydro-solar hybrid power project 📍 The Kela PV Plant in Sichuan, China, is the world’s largest hydro-solar hybrid power plant. Co-developed by Huawei and Yalong River Hydropower Development Company, Ltd., it has a capacity of 1 GW and generates 2 billion kWh annually. The clean energy produced cuts CO₂ emissions by 1.6 million tonnes, saving 600,000 tonnes of coal per year. Why it matters: 1️⃣ Seamless energy integration: Combining solar power and hydropower to ensure stable, reliable energy output in a large-scale hybrid energy system. 2️⃣ Innovative technologies: Huawei’s Smart String ESS technology and intelligent diagnostics maximise efficient power integration performance, even in extreme high-altitude conditions. 3️⃣ Environmental and social impact: The plant’s design supports grazing and vegetation growth beneath PV modules, promoting local industries such as agriculture, tourism, and transportation, which boosts local employment and rural development. 🗣️ “In Ganzi, Sichuan, Huawei Digital Power helped Yalong Hydro build the 1 GW Kela PV Project, which is the world's largest and highest-altitude hydro-solar hybrid power plant. The project leverages digital and intelligent technologies to improve quality and efficiency, setting a benchmark for intelligent power plants,” said Steven Zhou, President of Utility Smart PV Business at Huawei Digital Power. The Kela project shows how renewable energy solutions can thrive in remote, high-altitude regions, setting a global benchmark for hybrid energy innovation. GRA, in partnership with the Solar Impulse Foundation, is bringing light on 20 inspiring stories of successful renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. These stories clearly show that we can reach the global clean energy goals established at COP28 by 2030, turning a clean, secure and just energy future into reality. It’s time to seize the opportunity to deliver #3xRenewables and #2xEnergyEfficiency. 🔗 Check out the inspiring cases: https://lnkd.in/eFHnnR6B GRA Members Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) Ben Backwell | Global Solar Council (GSC) Sonia Dunlop | Green Hydrogen Organisation - GH2 Jonas Moberg | Long Duration Energy Storage Council (LDES Council) Julia Souder | International Hydropower Association (IHA) Eddie Rich | International Geothermal Association Marit Brommer | Bruce Douglas #3xRenewables #Time4Action #NowDeliverChange
