Today's a SPECIAL DAY for Women's Breast Health. You may be seeing this on the internet and not understand WHY or HOW it impacts you ... I'll break it down for you here. WHY:  The FDA MQSA requirements go into effect today 10 September 2024! WHAT does this mean (to the average person)? ✨ Imaging (mammography) facilities in the USA will be required to notify all women about their breast density status after completing a mammogram. (dense breast notification). Prior to this, notification was only required in 39 States. ✨ Even in the states with prior notification, many people did not understand what it meant, or why it matters. ✨ The letter you receive at home, will change. There will be new language. If you haven't been told this information before it may seem confusing or concern you. This is where Check Your Chart® by My Density Matters comes in. ✨ We've made it super easy for you, your family and friends to gain a better understanding and elevate the conversation with your doctors. HOW - *It's as simple as this in the USA: TEXT: Check Your Chart  TO:  211411 We will walk you through: ✨ WHAT the terminology means ✨ WHY it matters ✨ WHERE to find more specific information in your patient portal ✨ HOW to collaborate better with your doctor. I encourage you to mention this to your family friends (even your doctors). It could make all the difference to you and your loved ones for earlier detection. If nothing else, it ought to alleviate some of the confusion. Let me know your thoughts! We had Senators, Congresswomen, Doctors, and people passionate about Women's Health across the spectrum of equitable CARE. HIGHLIGHTS: * Women's symptoms are often discounted because they're not included in studies. * Racism, sexism, ageism, gender and unconscious bias in healthcare. * Create access and increase the dollars in the women's health realm. * Passion and Policy across the spectrum of menopause, breast cancer and reproductive health. * Diversity in leadership has better outcomes. The Women's Health movement energy is going higher with each personal story and intention for positive change. "Bias can be imposed on anyone, but especially marginalized groups." - Dr. Bayo C. Congratulations to the winning pitch by Jill Kolesar & VesiCure Technologies who are "Harnessing the immune system to cure cancer" by focusing on Pancreas, Ovarian, & Prostate cancers. This event showcased incredibly talented researchers working on new technologies, therapies, devices, and cures to improve our global health. I cannot even begin to describe how proud I am of my husband "this guy" right here. He competed in a Triathlon (swim, bike, run) yesterday with our 23 & 25 year old sons (you can see all 3 in the pool). The Miller Island crew was in full force as our 2 daughters were there with me to cheer them on (the girls will be running a half Marathon in June). Life has something interesting on the horizon for us, I just know it. Stay blessed y'all and have an incredible week!! PS: I have some awesome photos of the family but forgot to ask the kids if they were OK with me posting them here. PPS: No, I'm not running the half-Marathon, but I sure am proud of my family.
