I remember feeling relieved yet overwhelmed during my prep periods! I needed a quick break but also had SO many things to get done like grab a snack, take a bathroom break, write lesson plans, run copies, meet with my team (the list goes on) Here are a few things that helped me make the most of some well-earned free time! Let us know which tips worked best for you and if you have any others you would like to share with other teachers!

Love this advice! Ask Kaiba for more than you need and choose what works best for YOUR classroom, YOUR lesson and most importantly- YOUR students!
The best AI advice I can give is beautifully simple: Always ask for options. If you need something, ask for 5 then choose the best one. Remember, you're the expert. You're the professional. You've got knowledge of your students, content, and context that the AI doesn't have. So, if you want an engaging hook for your lesson, don't ask for a hook. Ask for five hooks and choose the best one. If you want 4 multiple-choice questions, don't ask for 4. Ask for 8 and pick the best 4. It's a simple addition to your prompt, but it respects the fact you have knowledge that the AI doesn't. It keeps you in the drivers seat.
Every winter break I would re-read Michael Linsin’s book, The Secret to Classroom Management, as a reset before the new year! It would only take me about an hour and it would put me in the right mindset for the second half of the school year! I wish Michael Linsin were on LinkedIn so I could thank him for how life-changing his strategies have been! Here’s a picture of my well-loved copy—it’s dogeared, full of highlights, underlines, post-its, and even has a coffee stain on the cover (which is actually quite fitting)! Hope something in here helps you in the rest of the school year. Look out for some of our favorite articles over the next few weeks and let us know some of your favorite classroom management strategies! 🙂
