Did you know that during harmattan, what you see, or doesn't let you see, is not fog. It's dust. It's called the Harmattan Haze. Dust? Harmattan Haze? What's the link? Allow us to explain. You see, the Northeast Trade Wind circulation, which blows from the Sahara over West Africa into the Gulf of Guinea, is responsible for harmattan. As the wind blows into our region, they cause a thick haze to form. This haze is the Harmattan Haze. It reduces visibility and even makes it difficult to breathe some times.
