🗽 What a Day for New York! 🗽 The energy at City Hall was electric as we celebrated the NY LIBERTY's first-ever WNBA championship and the first basketball title for New York in over 50 years! It was incredible to hear from the champs, team front office, and of course, the people’s favorite, Ellie the Elephant! Huge shoutout to the entire Liberty organization and our incredible partners at BSE Global, with a special shout out to Allie Moogan and Heather Hall, for allowing Good Shepherd Services to be a community partner during this historic season! Now that the Liberty have set the tone, it's time for the Yankees to follow suit. Also, let's run it back next year! 🗽🏆

Thank you for your incredible support and partnership, John R. Emra! The opening of the AT&T Connected Learning Center at Miccio Cornerstone Community Center marks a significant step forward for digital equity in Red Hook. It's inspiring to see how these centers create tangible pathways to opportunity through access to technology and digital skills training. The partnership between AT&T and Good Shepherd Services demonstrates how corporate-community collaborations can make a big impact. 🧡
Yesterday, we unveiled a new AT&T Connected Learning Center in Brooklyn, in collaboration with our partners at Good Shepherd Services. These centers play a crucial role in providing connectivity, devices, and digital literacy education to the community. The Miccio Cornerstone Community Center stands as a vital hub in Red Hook, and we are privileged to support their efforts. #ATT #ConnectedLearning #DigitalLiteracy #CommunityImpact Timothy Tapia, M.Ed. Great news for Red Hook, #Brooklyn! Good Shepherd Services opened a new Connected Learning Center at The Joseph Miccio Cornerstone Community Center, made possible by AT&T's generous $50,000 contribution. The center provides internet access, computers, and digital #learning resources. We launched yesterday with a lesson in coding for our #afterschool participants. #ThankYou, AT&T, for helping more people gain access to the digital world! #DigitalEquity #DigitalAccessibility #equity

“Love is powerful, caring for people is powerful,” said a participant at last week’s Barbershop talk, hosted by our RISE team in collaboration with Council Member Kevin C. Riley, M.P.A and Good Shepherd Services BRAG North at The Barber Factory in the Bronx. Barbershops and other similar ‘third spaces’ have long been therapeutic to Black and Brown communities, where people can have real discussions about mental health, community healing, and accountability. Last Friday saw meaningful conversations on relationships, boundaries, and self-love—all while participants enjoyed free haircuts. 💈

LinkedIn has been a game changer for my career, and I couldn’t be more excited to help others start their journey on the platform! 🙌🏽 The Good Shepherd Services Economic Mobility Team recently hosted a LinkedIn workshop lead by Christopher Thomas for our amazing summer interns and staff. The workshop covered everything from setting up profiles, building your connections, finding jobs and everybody who attended received professional headshots taken by the talented Kandice Chavous. 📸 The highlight for me was watching the participants building connections with each other. It was a refreshing reminder that in-person connections are just as important, if not more so, than your digital ones! Check out some of the awesome headshots taken by Kandice below and a fun group shot of some GSS familiar faces! If you have a tip on how you’ve used LinkedIn to grow your career, feel free to drop it in the comments!
