Meet Edwin, one of the many lives transformed by S:US. Edwin and his children were in crisis. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Edwin and his family now have stable housing and hope for the future, with help from S:US. Learn how S:US supported Edwin. Join Edwin on his journey towards stability and find out how you can make a meaningful impact on the lives of New Yorkers in need. S:US believes that food is a basic right. In New York City, nearly 1.3 million people, including 1 in 4 children, face #foodinsecurity. Many families are often forced to choose between purchasing food and other essentials such as housing and healthcare. These figures bring to light the urgency of addressing hunger in our communities. Our white paper, “Uniting on Food Justice: An Innovative Approach from a Health and Human Service Organization,” discusses the complexities of food insecurity, highlights innovations and best practices in food justice, and calls for collective action to eradicate food insecurity throughout the city.

Leaders should embrace #positivity.

This article may be geared toward HR, but all leaders should embrace positivity. HR leaders, especially, must take a step back and understand their own feelings at work. This is a fantastic article that lists examples of positive self-talk, which in turn make our work life a whole lot better. Also, may I suggest these activities to help build positivity 1) Go to your mirror each morning and remind yourself that you are fantastic, and this is going to be a great day. 2) At the end of each day, think of one thing that you accomplished. Easing the 60-day shelter rule for migrant families is a step in the right direction, but there’s still more to do. Let’s continue working together to create lasting solutions as it is crucial for children to have a stable home life in order to succeed in their education and beyond. At S:US, we believe that food is a basic human right. We are committed to understanding the primary causes of food insecurity among the communities we serve, and we utilize innovative approaches to address this need. #communityfoodsecurity
An alarming statistic from Robin Hood’s annual #foodinsecurity report found that food pantries are the primary source for 11% of working New Yorkers. It’s clear that too many families are in need of healthy nutritious food which is why I am so proud of the work Services for the UnderServed does on community #foodsecurity. From our #CommunityFridge programs to our Urban Farms, our teams work tirelessly to make sure people have access to the food they need and deserve. https://lnkd.in/eE6bT6qp
11% of working New Yorkers need NYC food pantries just to be able to eat. One report explains why.

HR leaders are imperative to the success of a company or organization. In Japan, it is an honor to be an HR Leader, you are known to be a manager of managers. Many times, theses HR Leaders are the CEO or COO successors. Good HR leaders should also be considered as role models along with other senior leaders. For an organization to be successful, leaders must prioritize employees, and no one does that better than the #HR department. Services for the UnderServed #leadership
