We’re thrilled to announce that Grassroot Soccer has a new look symbolizing our focus on soccer as a pathway for improving adolescent health! The new Grassroot Soccer logo consists of three organic shapes, which together form a dual meaning: an aerial view of a soccer pitch with the goal at the bottom, and an outline of an adolescent, including their head, body, and heart. While our look is changing, our mission remains the same. We are still dedicated to leveraging the power of soccer to equip young people with the life-saving information, services, and mentorship they need to live healthier lives. Our new look is on full display on our new website. Take a look, learn more about our approach and impact, and join us in celebrating this exciting new chapter for Grassroot Soccer. Thank you for being a part of our global community. Together, we’re #PlayingforLife. https://lnkd.in/dBi5QNWa

16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence: What it Means to be a Bro 🕺🏼 Camp BRO (Boys Respecting Others) is where boys and young men learn that being a bro is about respect—respect for themselves, for others, and for their communities. These camps, led by Peace Corps Volunteers and local partners, often incorporate sport, such as Grassroot Soccer to tackle critical topics like gender equality, consent, and healthy relationships. When participants return home, they are ready to start BRO clubs at their own schools. 💪🏼 Anyone got any advice for the bros? Share your wisdom in the comments. #PeaceCorps #16DaysOfActivism

  • Oh what a night! Earlier this week, on #GivingTuesday, our community came together to raise OVER $2 MILLION for Grassroot Soccer at our 2024 World AIDS Day Gala – the most ever raised in the history of the event! The Gala also honored the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team (represented by legends Tobin Heath, Ali Krieger, Carli Lloyd, and Christen Press) with the Game Changer Award, for their trailblazing leadership and powerful advocacy for gender equity, which continues to change the landscape of sports and uplift the rights of girls and women everywhere. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for our global community of supporters and all who contributed to an unforgettable evening. Together, we're #PlayingForLife. Thank you.

HIV prevention begins with conversation. On #WorldAIDSDay, we highlight how the Peace Corps, through our partnership with the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), empowers communities to lead these vital conversations and #EndHIVepidemic. In South Africa, Grassroot Soccer SKILLZ sessions bring young people together to learn about HIV prevention, healthy relationships, and self-advocacy—all through the universal language of soccer. Because a conversation today can change a generation tomorrow. Be the difference and get involved: https://bit.ly/3cthznX #PeaceCorps #PeaceCorpsSouthAfrica

🏃♂️ 💨 A few weeks ago, seven of our colleagues from Vitol, representing four global offices, laced up their running shoes and took on the iconic New York Marathon, to support our inspiring partner, Grassroot Soccer.   Across Africa, adolescents face daunting health challenges. While childhood mortality has seen an 80% improvement over the past 50 years, adolescent mortality remains stubbornly high. Preventable diseases like HIV and complications from pregnancies continue to claim young lives. Grassroot Soccer is changing this narrative by harnessing the universal language of team sports to educate, support, and mentor young people.   ⚽ Soccer, or football, is more than just a game—it's a cultural cornerstone. Grassroot Soccer uses this beloved sport to build trust, engage youth in dynamic learning, and create safe spaces for open conversations. Through soccer-based programs, young people gain the knowledge and confidence to tackle vital health topics and adopt lifelong healthy behaviours.
