November is a month of duality — the start of the holiday season and National Family Caregivers Month. For many, it’s a time for celebration, reflection, and connection. But for caregivers, it carries a different weight. If you’re part of the sandwich generation — caring for young people and older adults — you’re pulled in many directions. And if you’re grieving a loss, the holidays are even more difficult. It’s not always easy knowing what to say or do for this part of your workplace. But one thing I know – doing nothing is not it. I encourage everyone to listen to the advice of my friend Ellen McGirt on the Better podcast. It’s a must-listen for anyone leading people today. As leaders, our job is to support our people through all stages of life and normalize conversations like these, especially at this time of the year. Listen and then take action. Thank you, Ellen. #NationalCaregiversMonth #Leadership #EmployeeSupport #WorkLifeBalance

Airbnb’s Brian Chesky has a different idea about workplace culture. He recently told Fortune he thinks it's OK to play favorites to highlight top performers. He refuses to have 1:1 meetings, too. He says they too often turn into therapy sessions. He’s also on the record about the need for leaders to stay in “founder mode” – a level of involvement that some feel is blatant micromanagement. We believe there’s a better way to do business. In 30 years of research, we see the best companies have leaders who embrace nine high-trust leadership behaviors. Leaders at great workplaces listen to their people, are inspired to bring more people to the table, and build a culture of trust. Here’s what that looks like: https://bit.ly/4eGozeJ Read more about Brian Chesky: https://bit.ly/4fDDA2b https://bit.ly/4fzirWR #GreatPlaceToWork #PollTime
