Eric Bricker, MD thanks for the summmary and what you describe exists here in Cincinnati Ohio. There are options for employers to be a part of something that is working to change this pay for volume primary care reimbursement mis alignmnet of incentives. Come join Greater Cincinnati Employers Group on Health and you will work with other cincy employers to change health care focused on VALUE versus volume. RAND and Harvard University Researchers Published a Study Examining How #Doctors are #Paid by #Hospital-Owned Practices. The Study Found that only 9% of #PrimaryCarePhysician Compensation was Based on #Value (Quality and Cost-Effectiveness) and only 5.3% of #Specialist Compensation was Based on Value. The Study Concluded: "The results of this cross-sectional study suggest that PCPs and specialists despite receiving #ValueBased reimbursement incentives from payers, the compensation of health system PCPs and specialists was #dominated by #VolumeBased incentives designed to maximize health system #revenue." **Note: When I recorded this video I was the Chief Medical Officer of a telemedicine company. I no longer work there. Sources at AHealthcareZ YouTube Channel

So much to appreciate about the Greater Cincinnati Employers Group on Health meeting today at Creatives On Call in Blue Ash! ⚡ Our speakers Gloria Sachdev & Shawn Gremminger captivated the audience with their expertise on strategies to combat rising employer drug costs (which are exploding at an exponential rate) Some top takeaways for me include: 💡 Take a look at "Site of Service/Care" in your plan. You can create a better experience for your employee (and save a ton of claim dollars) by having infusion meds delivered at on offsite infusion center, instead of in the hospital. 💡 Ask for and review your PBM contracts to understand how changes to the formulary are made and how they impact your plan 💡 Ask for an audit of your pharmacy claims 💡 Check out this article from the FTC on how PBMs are impacting drug costs https://lnkd.in/g9UjzF4v 💡 Check out the Sage Transparency Tool at https://lnkd.in/gsvgTbvb to see how the different hospital systems in your area compare on price & outcomes. 🔥 The space is fantastic, and the staff are super friendly and helpful! You will see us again Willough H. #risingpharmacycosts #transparency #GCEGH
