In 2006, Success Academy Charter Schools launched a single school in Harlem with the belief that with the right educational environment and support, all students can succeed academically. Today, Success Academy’s schools rank in the top 1% to 3% in math and reading in the state, compared to all New York State public elementary and middle schools. Over the last 18 years, Success Academy has expanded to serve students attending the network’s 57 elementary, middle, and high schools across four New York City boroughs. Three of these schools were built thanks to Griffin Catalyst’s 2018 gift, providing exceptional education opportunities in neighborhoods with the most need. A new $25 million gift from Griffin Catalyst in 2023 has put Success Academy on the road to accomplishing its next major goal: expanding enrollment by 50% to serve more than 30,000 New York City students.
