WWCGD (What Would Curt Gridley Do)? That's what we've been asking ourselves most of last year. This has been a difficult and rewarding year, full of growth and growing pains. We're so excited to see where 2025 will take us!

We're excited to share that we're partnering with Wichita State University College of Engineering to help businesses design and build prototypes, test proof-of-concept ideas, and engage in low-volume manufacturing! WSU College of Engineering students will work alongside our community in the Maker Labs to design and machine parts, analyze manufacturing processes, engage in real-world product development for business clients, and support research, all under the guidance of CoE's Project Innovation Hub Staff. "Curt and I founded Groover Labs to bring together all the essential elements of a startup ecosystem under one roof, helping founders build transformative technologies in Wichita. "With a deep passion for solving engineering problems, Curt envisioned the Maker Labs as a hands-on resource for founders in the early stages of product development. “Curt believed that Wichita, with its unique density of engineering talent, could drive hardware innovation. Now, with partnerships like the Innovation OnRamp Hub: Kansas, I am honored to continue his legacy by scaling our capabilities to establish a physical technology prototyping ecosystem that inspires investment, supports founders, and positions Wichita and the Midwest as leaders in tech development.”

You might have heard, the Defense Innovation OnRamp Hub: Kansas is moving into the front gallery space at Groover Labs! So what will this partnership look like? The OnRamp Hub will transform the gallery into a collaboration space and prototype development workshop for tech hardware startups to support the Department of Defense’s mission. The space will function as a training center where instructors and subject matter experts will have access to equipment to teach prototyping methods and techniques and discuss cutting-edge technologies with dual defense and commercial uses.
