We are thrilled to support our very own Bweza Itaagi who will be joining @University of Chicago Civic Leadership Academy based at the University of Chicago Center for Effective Government and the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago. Every year CLA brings together a cohort of high-potential leaders of nonprofit organizations and government agencies across Chicago and Cook County. Fellows engage in six months of leadership development programming and instruction with renowned UChicago faculty, as well as networking with practitioners from across the city—all in the service of developing individual leaders who will create meaningful change in the city of Chicago. We look forward to seeing all that the 2025 cohort accomplishes together. Read more about the cohort here https://bit.ly/4gKXaKD. Congrats sis!!

Thrilled to participate in Project Ecopolis with Ezra Wube and the Friends of the High Line!
Coming Soon to the High Line Channel: "PROJECT ECOPOLIS" As part of "PROJECT ECOPOLIS" (2024), I had the privilege of collaborating on one of four short stop-motion films by artist Ezra Wube and commissioned for the High Line Network's Joint Art Initiative. The work is the second Joint Art Initiative (JAI) commission, a program that explores how Network members can leverage public art to inspire civic discourse and deepen connections among the communities surrounding Network projects. On Monday, November 18, I'll be moderating a conversation between Ezra and our fellow collaborators Tanya Ward and Gloria I. Rivera from Englewood Agro-Eco District in Chicago, Karen Farber from Buffalo Bayou Partnership in Houston, Texas; Jordan Remington of Friends of Waterfront Park Seattle, for the High Line Channel premiere and an artist talk! If you'll be in New York City in November, I hope you save your spot for the upcoming Artist Talk and premiere! 📺 "Project Ecopolis," November 18, 2024 - January 7, 2025 📍 On the High Line at 14th Street 📆 Premiere and Artist Talk | November 18th at 6:30pm at The Theatre in the Rubin Museum 🎫 https://lnkd.in/e_HatVCq Learn more about the Joint Art Initiative: https://lnkd.in/epBpbKg8

Glad to have witnessed and testified today!!! Historic 💚 Definitely a day of affirmation and love for Chicago!! Full disclosure: I am a proud GROW GREATER ENGLEWOOD Board Member
The Chicago Plan Commission voted today to adopt the Englewood Agro-Eco District Land Use Plan, a community-led vision for the future of land surrounding the forthcoming 1.75-mile Englewood Nature Trail. Drawing on more than two years of public outreach, the plan presents a framework for revitalizing disinvested areas with new uses that provide employment, housing, food production and recreational opportunities for Englewood residents. The Plant recently hosted a delegation of journalists, academics, and students from Pakistan as part of a Green Urban Development exchange program in collaboration with the Institute of Urbanism, U.S. Embassy Islamabad, Pakistan, and The Egan Office UECP at DePaul University Steans Center. The delegation, visiting from Islamabad, also explored key institutions and sites such as the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, The Talking Farm, and GROW GREATER ENGLEWOOD, gaining insights into best practices for sustainable urban development and opportunities for international collaboration on water conservation, waste management, and green infrastructure.
