#HMBLaw’s Jerry Hamilton will be a featured presenter at the KANSAS ASSOCIATION OF DEFENSE COUNSEL’s (KADC) 2024 Annual Meeting. Jerry will speak on the topic of preventing and/or mitigating runaway verdicts, a timely and important issue in the legal industry. He will also lead a much- anticipated breakout session for young lawyers, focusing on essential trail skills. The KADC is a statewide non-profit organization of Kansas lawyers who devote a substantial part of their practice to the civil defense of litigated cases. The #HMBLaw duo of Melissa Victoria Jordon and Liva Rivera were the hosts of the Lunch and Learn session with Lancashire Syndicates on November 1 in London, England. Melissa’s presentation topic centered on “Fraud & Bad Faith – Best Practices for First Party Property Claim Investigation & Preventing Bad Faith Litigation.” Special thanks to Peter Payne of Lancashire Syndicates Limited and the whole team for being such gracious hosts in London. #HMBLaw welcomes Damian M. Fletcher as our new of counsel. Damian is a seasoned trial lawyer with nearly 30 years of experience in defense litigation, specializing in cases involving industrial accidents, contaminated drugs, product liability, environmental contamination, medical malpractice, vehicular accidents, negligent security, and discrimination. Over the course of his career, he has successfully resolved more than 200 cases in state and federal courts nationwide. Damian most recently served as managing partner, opening the first East Coast office of a regional defense firm in Fort Lauderdale. Prior to that, he spent 10 years as a partner at a national defense firm. Damian received his Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Communication from the University of Florida and his Juris Doctor from Florida State University, College of Law.
