#Audiologists and #audiometrists working with #Workcover clients may benefit from a new online post graduate course in Compensable Health and Medicine starting in 2025. Melbourne audiologist Ms Jasna Bruce, who is a member of the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) Clinical Panel, said the course would be run through Monash University in partnership with the Personal Injury Education Foundation. Specsavers #Audiology recorded its fastest growth globally in 2023-2024 in Australia and New Zealand, the organisation’s latest annual review reveals. The network said it had a 30% increase in customers through its doors compared with 2022-2023. Brisbane-based personalised audio company Audeara claims it transformed Brisbane’s Normanby Hotel into the world’s first #Auracast-enabled pub during the launch of its Audeara Buds. @Auracast technology revolutionises Bluetooth SIG by enabling a one-to-many connection, allowing an unlimited number of users within range to listen to the same audio stream. This creates new ways to share audio in personal and public spaces, opening possibilities for public listening by allowing people to tune into a single broadcast delivered clearly to their Auracast-enabled devices. The National Disability Insurance Agency will review its decision to remove #MusicTherapy as a therapy support funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (#NDIS). It follows lobbying by groups including the Australian Music Therapy Association and Parents of Deaf Children to overturn the decision. An independent review led by health economist Dr Stephen Duckett AM will address critical areas including evidence of effectiveness of art and music therapy for people with disability, qualifications and registration of music and art practitioners and pricing of art and music support. Dr Barbra Timmer will remain as president of Audiology Australia ® (AudA), the nation’s peak accrediting and advocacy body for audiology has announced. Revealing its new look board, AudA said Ms Yetta Abrahams and Ms Lia Traves were appointed co-vice presidents and Ms Emma Ramsay was reappointed as treasurer. It unveiled its new line of custom #HearingAids with world-first features on 15 October 2024.
