📣 Unveiling the 2025 Heart Health Matters Report ❤️🔥 Heart disease is an urgent crisis leaders can’t afford to ignore. But according to new data, only 35% of benefit decision-makers feel prepared to manage the staggering financial and human toll of heart disease on their organization. Our survey of government, employer, and Medicare Advantage leaders found: 🚨94% of decision-makers think heart conditions pose a significant risk to their organization’s people and bottom line. 🫀59% listed heart health as their top priority for 2025. 🧠Mental health is another core priority, but 72% of leaders agree they’re not doing enough to mitigate the impact of stress on heart health. The status quo isn’t working. It’s time to be bold. Half of us in America report that we’re stressed. The level of stress in our society has grown over the past 2 decades, up from 33% in 2003. When you’re stressed, your body goes into fight or flight mode. Your ❤️ pumps faster to deliver more oxygen to your muscles to prepare you for that close encounter with that saber-tooth tiger. Cortisol, the stress hormone, floods your body causing your blood vessels to constrict, increasing your blood pressure. Prolonged, chronic stress means higher risk of heart disease. And when you’re stressed, you’re more likely to do a host of unhealthy things to cope - like smoke, drink, overeat and/or spend hours doomscrolling Instagram. Living through a pandemic, the uncertainty of the future, and everyday economic tensions have created a chronically stressed culture, and the impact of it all is felt on our ❤️ hearts. Hello Heart recently commissioned an independent survey on benefit leaders (aka health leaders) and the top two health priorities for organizations in 2025 are heart health and mental health. What’s felt in the mind is also felt in the body. The good news is 80% of heart disease cases are preventable. If you’re a leader of an organization, it’s a good time to reflect on what you can do improve stress and the hearts of your team. Kicking off 2025 with our second annual Heart Health Matters Report ❤️🔥 We surveyed 375 top benefit leaders across government, employers, and Medicare Advantage about their urgent priorities for 2025. Two insights stand out to me: ➡️ 94% of decision-makers are worried about the financial and human toll of heart disease on their organizations – but only 1 in 3 feel prepared to manage these giant costs ➡️ The majority of leaders prefer digital health point solutions *over* bundled solutions because specialized tools for specific conditions lead to better outcomes and higher savings 💰 Get these findings and more in the full report: https://lnkd.in/d5qd8Uj5 And if your org hasn’t invested in a preventive heart health strategy, now is the time. Let’s talk!
