On a mission to ensure all children have a safe, stable homes
About us
Henrico CASA promotes safe, healthy homes for every child in Henrico County, especially those vulnerable from abuse and neglect. #ChangeaChildsStory We train and supervise volunteers who help our county's most vulnerable children thrive in safe, loving homes. These volunteers are called Court Appointed Special Advocates, aka CASAs, because they are appointed by judges serving in the Henrico County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court to speak up for the best interests of children experiencing possible abuse and/or neglect. CASA volunteers build a relationship with the child, gather information, and collaborate with professionals in order to make a recommendation to the court. As our judges often note, these recommendations are vital to making the best decisions possible on behalf of vulnerable children. CASA volunteers provide "unbiased reporting of the circumstances to assist the court with making a better informed decision." - Judge, Henrico Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court

#TBT Our team at CASA loves to celebrate the holiday season! Here's a flashback to one of our favorite festive moments! Thanks for reminiscing with us during our 30th year celebration. We are so thankful for the amazing people who have helped us amplify the voices of 4,270 (and counting!) local children... children who would have otherwise gone unheard.

Last night, Santa crashed our evening with the Tuckahoe Club of Kiwanis International. We were honored to be in such good company with these dedicated Kiwanis and fellow nonprofits who share our commitment to giving children better childhoods and brighter futures. Last Friday night’s 'STACHE BASH was the culmination of a month of mustache growing and fundraising by our team of “Henrico Heroes.” We can’t thank them enough for their commitment to the well-being of children. We surpassed our goal and raised $66,909 to fund Henrico CASA’s service to FORTY-FOUR more children! And the M4K RICHMOND INC grand total raised by all teams combined broke $1,000,000. WOW! A special shout out to Henrico County Division of Fire and Henrico IAFF Local 1568. Their enthusiasm for Henrico CASA and M4K reflect the strong spirit of of Henrico – a County with a Heart. Autumn Zaborowski, adoptive mom and long-term helper to Henrico County Department of Social Services, was recently recognized as an Angel in Adoption honoree by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute. Jeannine and Kristin invited her to join them Henrico CASA's Vigilant Voices® podcast to chat about how to best support local foster families... Her advice? Wait in the wings for a "yes" moment!
