New 2023 NYC Hepatitis A, B, and C Report shows viral hepatitis elimination progress. Hep B and Hep C affects 314,300 New Yorkers. ➡️ In 2023, there were 9,548 new reports of hepatitis A, B and C, compared with 8544 new reports in 2022. ➡️ While the numbers of people reported with Hep B increased from 2022 to 2023, the number of people newly reported with Hep C decreased. ➡️ Without care and treatment, over 50,100 of these individuals may develop severe liver disease.
