Happy to have an excerpt from my interview with Kimberly Peeler-Allen featured at Ms. Magazine! Peeler-Allen is co-founder of Higher Heights for America and board chair of the ERA Coalition, among so many other affiliations. We talked about what it would mean to elect our first woman president who is multiracial, which issues are mobilizing Black women in this election, the biases and barriers women candidates face, why it is important to elevate Black women’s leadership, the significance of the ERA on the ballot in New York, and more.

Last weekend, Higher Heights launched our #BlackWomenLead Get Out The Vote Bus Tour, energizing communities with powerful stops in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland. Together, our #BlackWomenLead Volunteers: ✉️ Wrote over 500 postcards ☎️ Made over 10,000 calls 🏠 Knocked 450+ doors knocked With just three weeks until Election Day, this final push is crucial in driving voter turnout and making history. Our tour was more than mobilizing voters — it was about empowering Black women to lead in shaping the future of our nation.

Higher Heights is on the ground in Michigan for our #BlackWomenLead Road to Victory weekend, engaging, empowering, and mobilizing Black women leaders and voters ahead of the upcoming election. We kicked off the weekend with VP Harris and Oprah at the #UniteForAmerica rally, followed by our “Cocktails & Conversations” GOTV event in Detroit, where Black women voters discussed the issues that matter most to them as they head to the polls.
