Luxury Yacht Interiors - Holistic Approach to Yacht Construction

For so many years, I felt like my work was something I couldn’t truly share back home. The yachting industry, as we know it, has had little presence in Estonia. But those days might finally be behind us. Thanks to Argo Sildvee ⚓️ and Estonian Marine and Manufacturing Initiative - EMI, and Holistic Yacht Interiors, new connections are forming, and it’s such a heartwarming experience to meet fellow Estonians at yachting industry events. It reminds me that even in the most niche fields, we can find ways to grow and inspire each other. Super happy to connect with Sinetimore and Kadri Konga to see great products from Spradling Group, at METSTRADE or share a quick hello at the Amsterdam airport with Tarmo Hillep from Repston! With fresh EMI brochures already on their way to me, I’m excited to see what opportunities the Superyacht Summit Türkiye next week in Istanbul will bring. With another wave of industry events on the horizon, I feel it’s the perfect time to ʀᴇ-ɪɴᴛʀᴏᴅᴜᴄᴇ myself and share the twists and turns of my journey. If you’re a yachting pro (or a curious outsider), here’s a bit about how I got here and why I feel a duty to give back to an industry that’s given me so much. The yachting industry as we know it does not exist in Estonia. Adding to the confusion, (𝑗𝑎ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑢𝑠) means hunting in Estonian, so explaining my career back home sounds “safari with golden bullets and 5-star hotels!”😁Born in Tartu, I studied Theology and managed a hot glass studio in Tallinn’s Old Town. Boats weren’t my comfort zone—in fact, crossing 40 n/m to Helsinki required a pint (or two) for courage! But life had other ideas. My first role came on a ferry to St. Petersburg, where we were welcomed with carnations and a wind orchestra. The line never took off, and I returned to land, to a furniture studio. But my three drops of blood to Neptune were given, and soon I was back as a Purser on the Helsinki-Tallinn high-speed ferry—a job I loved until the 2008 recession hit. Then came Oman. By chance, I joined an ambitious government project to build a passenger service from scratch. It was such an adventure I wrote a book, 𝑀𝑦 𝑂𝑚𝑎𝑛 – 𝐶𝑎𝑚𝑒𝑙 𝑡𝑜 𝑃𝑜𝑟𝑠𝑐ℎ𝑒 𝑖𝑛 56 𝐾𝑛𝑜𝑡𝑠. A bit of media attention and one interview later, I dared to voice my next dream: working on a superyacht. That comment caught the eye of an Estonian yachting pro, and she helped me break into what I’d imagined as a “glass ball”—beautiful but unreachable. My first yacht role was on a sleek 50m for a Middle Eastern owner who valued cultural understanding, so my studies and life in Oman opened the door. Six months later, I was promoted, and my fascination with yacht design and refit only grew. Later, I joined a 125m new build as PA to the Owner’s Rep and Purser. While I found my calling, the steep learning curve led to burnout. I stepped back and drafted a concept for an upcycling fashion brand… until yachting called me back. My return came with ᴍ/ʏ ᴀʀᴇᴛɪ, where I could finally blend operational insights with construction. Often, passion is followed by praise—I was honored to win the 𝟸𝟶𝟸𝟶 ᴀᴄʀᴇᴡ ᴄʜɪᴇꜰ ꜱᴛᴇᴡ ᴀᴡᴀʀᴅ. Next, I worked with the award-winning ᴍʏ ᴀʜᴘᴏ, followed by a 146m new-build, bringing these yachts from construction to operation. Twenty years later, each chapter feels worthy of its own novel. Realizing my role connected yacht construction to operation, I launched Holistic Yacht Interiors, bridging design, construction, and operation. If you’re heading to Amsterdam to ACREW Award Ceremony, ᴍᴀꜱᴛᴇʀ'ᴅᴀᴍ 𝟸𝟶𝟸𝟺, The Superyacht Forum, Yacht Dame - Women in Yachting Awards, or METSTRADE, let’s connect and share our stories - there is so much to tell! And perhaps Holistic Yacht Interiors might just be the missing link in your new-build or refit journey. #YachtingJourney #HolisticYachtInteriors #SuperyachtDesign #YachtLife #YachtingEvents

I just couldn't resist the temptation - your little Interior New-Build Horror Story 🎃 🎃 🎃 "On a mist-laden November night, the Sea of Shadows sat waiting in the shipyard, her silver trim glinting softly in the moonlight. She looked grand—almost ready—yet no one expected guests that night. But then came the call: the yacht’s mysterious owner was arriving for a midnight party. The crew, still in their Halloween costumes, was thrust into a whirlwind of panic. Chef Andre, dressed as Dracula, led his team—a skeleton sous-chef and a pastry witch—in a magical frenzy. Pots hissed, and plates clattered as they transformed mismatched ingredients into a midnight feast. Pumpkin-spice soups, jack-o’-lantern garnishes, and ghostly pastries filled the tables right as the clock struck twelve. Somehow, the food was magnificent. But elsewhere on the ship, the scene was less enchanting. Panels sagged like sleepy ghosts, half-fitted lamps flickered, casting shadows across hallways where freshly laid rugs were only mostly in place. Guests roamed into cabins hastily outfitted with mismatched blankets and towels rough as dragon scales, while bare wires dangled from the walls like abandoned spider webs. Not a bin or basket in sight. The crew, disguised as goblins and ghouls, slipped through narrow halls and unfinished stairways, balancing trays and dodging one another. Plates came straight out of the box, stickers hurriedly peeled off. Still, they smiled, nodding as if this midnight mystery had been planned all along. And somehow, it worked! The guests, entranced by the ship’s ghostly “charm,” laughed and sipped their drinks, oblivious to the mad scramble behind the scenes. As dawn's first light peeked through the mist and the guests drifted away, the crew, bleary-eyed and cramped in makeshift bunks, couldn’t shake the feeling that maybe this last-minute dash through their Halloween fever dream had somehow pulled itself off—perhaps just by a bit of magic, and perhaps by sheer accident. Or maybe, just maybe, it had all been a dream..." This might read like a fairytale, but it is happening for real. And then we call it “yachting.” We should let go of that weird habit. Let’s leave Halloween stories to Halloween and prepare the boats so that maiden visit will not become a horror story to scare the junior crew with. Connect with Holistic Yacht Interiors to make your next launch one to celebrate, not survive. 👻 👻 👻 #NewBuild #Preparation #HolisticYachtInteriors #Shipyards #Planning #Halloween #GhostStory #LetsConnect

The Birth of The Brand While a prompt can generate beautiful images, true depth requires more than algorithms. Typing “holistic yacht interiors” might give you a mandala on the side of a yacht, but that’s not who we are. Our logo at Holistic Yacht Interiors embodies the purpose and journey of our work. This symbol, rooted in nautical tradition and my personal heritage, features a circle of swallows—a bird often seen as a good omen in seafaring culture. Swallows mark that land is near, reveal changes in the weather, and are known for resilience, returning home after journeys across vast seas. Only those who have crossed oceans tattoo swallows in body art—a meaningful tradition. Although I could easily wear a few on my ankle (especially now that I’m not crew anymore!), it goes deeper for me, as the swallow is also Estonia’s national bird. Each swallow flies its own path, yet their wings touch in connection. This formation mirrors our role: aligning the unique perspectives of every stakeholder, always embracing individuality and purpose. At the center lies the Northern Star, more accurate than any compass—a symbol of direction, intent, and the guiding force behind our work, anchored in the purpose and spirit of each project. Four swallows represent the compass directions, seasons, and our four core values: holistic creation, aligned expectations, practical luxury, and elevating ease. In colors of deep mulberry and rose gold, our logo visually reflects warmth, elegance, and timeless sophistication. It tells a story of resilience, connectivity, and purpose—a reminder of our commitment to every project, each detail meticulously crafted to serve those who will live and work within these spaces. Get in touch to live these values together on your newbuild or refit project! #HolisticDesign #YachtInteriors #GuidingPrinciples #Superyacht #HolisticYachtInteriors #ElevatingEase #PracticalLuxury #Velvet #AligningExpectations #Newbuild #Design #Interior

Luxury Yacht Interiors - Holistic Approach to Yacht Construction

In the past eight months, I’ve had the opportunity to work with two exceptional companies as a client. The projects we brought to life were unchartered waters for me and spanned different ends of the spectrum, both rich in creativity and allowing for artistic interpretations. While the outcomes were brilliant, the journeys differed significantly. With one company, every email brought a knot in my stomach. Communications felt confrontational, often requiring me to defend my opinions and choices. The lack of clarity around schedules, tasks, and pricing made the process stressful, leaving me in a constant state of follow-up and inquiry. In contrast, my experience with the other company was a breath of fresh air. They maintained a clear focus, ensuring I felt supported and inspired throughout the journey. They were always a few steps ahead, never wasting my time and holding space for me when I needed it most. At Holistic Yacht Interiors, one of our core values is Elevating Ease. We understand that it's not just the end result that matters; the journey is equally important. When we bring the client´s vison alive, our mission is to create a supported experience, a promise of as plain sailing as possible. Every step of the process is designed to be smooth, enjoyable, and as stress-free as it can be. Let us elevate your new-build journey. • Through the challenges of Covid, unrealistic travel restrictions, supply shortages, delays in logistics and shipping, labor shortages and many other obstacles that were far from beginner’s work, I had the honor and pride of being part of the interior team for this beautiful yacht. Despite it all, Project ENZO / #ahpo was and is a remarkable accomplishment, thanks to the incredible teamwork and dedication of all the stakeholders involved. What started as a role as Interior Manager on the Owner's team turned into something much more meaningful for me — becoming the bridge between construction and operation. This experience opened my eyes to the importance of a holistic approach, which ultimately inspired the creation of my company - Holistic Yacht Interiors - to fill the much needed gap in the newbuild journey. Thank you to Lürssen, Valentina Zannier, NUVOLARI LENARD Moran Yacht & Ship, List General Contractor, MVS, VEDDER GmbH, and literally hundreds of others who were part of this experience. Your collaboration not only made this project a success but also helped me realize my vision and bring my company to life. AHPO (115.10 m) #OctoberCalendarYacht This 115m superyacht was commissioned by a repeat client who previously owned an 86m Lürssen. With both interior and exterior design by NUVOLARI LENARD , she was delivered in 2021. AHPO was built to promote a healthy, family-focused lifestyle on board, featuring numerous facilities for sports and activities, including an extra-large gym on the sky lounge deck and a spacious wellness area on the lower deck. Lürssen’s engineering team equipped her with innovative, bespoke technologies, including generators with a heat recovery system that warms the pool water, reducing electrical power usage and lowering emissions. Dynamic positioning enables electronic anchoring in sensitive and remote areas, protecting the seabed and allowing for safe mooring regardless of water depth. Photo by Guillaume Plisson

We, Estonians, are a singing nation. Every four years, a festival brings together nearly 100,000 people to celebrate our unity. One song that has become particularly famous is called 'Minu Inimesed - My People.' The deep wisdom shared by the grand-old souls of the industry, combined with the inspiring enthusiasm of new start-up companies, gives me goosebumps. Every time. When the horns of all the yachts bid farewell to another show, I feel it deeply — these are My People. Thank you Monaco Yacht Show S.A.M. Thank you, everyone. 🙏 Last and not least - huge bow to Velvet design Studio creating such a beautiful branding for Holistic Yacht Interiors - we got so many compliments!
