Tim Trefzer, VP of Honeycomb Strategies shares this remembrance of President Jimmy Carter: "Today is a National Day of Mourning in honor of former President Jimmy Carter. As a fellow Georgian that lives less than a mile from the Carter Presidential Library, I would be remiss not to acknowledge his impact on the U.S., world, our environment, and human rights. He fought long after his presidency for all humans to have decency, honorable living conditions, and attempted to eliminate disease in places that had long been forgotten. He was also a champion of the environment and established the Department of Energy and installed solar panels on the White House for the first time (in the '70s!) I encourage you to read more about his legacy and, although we all have many priorities today, take a moment to reflect on how much he did to establish a legacy that we are all helping to carry out today." A note on the Los Angeles wildfires: Several Honeycomb Strategies employees and their families live in Los Angeles. All are safe at this time. As witnesses to the incredible destruction, tragedy and stress that the wildfire events continue to impose on our communities, we are heartbroken by the losses to homes, businesses, livelihoods and memories. And we are reminded of urgent goals to reverse climate change and live sustainably in harmony with nature.
