They are on display inside the Virginia Clifford Hospice Center in Toledo. We’ve said it before, but we really do have the best neighbors!

A message from our President/CEO Richard Russell: Nationwide, the length of time that patients and families experience the wonderful services that hospice organizations provide is much too short. The comment we receive more than any other from our patients and families is “I wish we would have known about hospice sooner.” Quality of life for those experiencing a life-limiting illness begins with a referral to hospice and palliative care. An extra special thank you to the Country Garden Club of Perrysburg, who braved the wind and rain this week to make sure the planters outside the patient rooms at the Edward and Marion Knight Hospice Center in Perrysburg were festive for the holiday season!

Formed by a small group of visionary volunteers in 1979, we served our first patients in 1981. Hospice of Northwest Ohio is the area’s only independent, non-profit agency solely dedicated to providing care for the community's seriously and terminally ill. We are among the first hospices licensed in the state of Ohio. A new study published in JAMA finds that non-profit hospices provide higher quality care than for-profits, with private equity-owned hospices ranking the lowest. Two weeks from today is Giving Tuesday. Online gifts on December 3 will support Path Finders Camp for grieving kids and teens. Camp is provided at no cost for participants. On Sunday, we welcomed families to our annual memorial service. Equally important as the service itself is the opportunity for grieving families to connect with each other during the reception afterward. It is a privilege to walk with people through their journey into hope and healing.
