Mastering ICT & AI in Higher Education! Last week, the Academic staff of Heliopolis University went through a learning journey with Dr. Yasmin Youssef during the “ICT in Education” module, presented by the ESD Program. Over the course of two days, the hands-on training focused on equipping educators with advanced tools and insights into how Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) can transform teaching practices, especially effective hybrid & hyflex strategies for active learning. The module emphasized the ethical considerations of using AI in education and the participants got the chance to learn according to the UNESCO framework and guidelines, ensuring that the approach to AI in education aligns with global best practices. Grant Writing Skills Refined! Last week, the academic staff of Heliopolis University embarked on an exciting journey to elevate their proposal writing skills through our “Project Grant Writing & Management” module, as a key part of our ongoing professional skill development ESD Program. Over two dynamic days, #HU_ESDC teamed up with two distinguished experts—Prof. Dr. Abdelhamid EL-ZOHEIRY, Former President of HU & EMUNI and a leader in research and innovation, and Dr. Ahmed Elshazly, Director of Sponsored Programs and International Relations at HU, known for his expertise in project management and proposal development. Under their expert mentorship, the participants dived deep into advanced strategies for crafting compelling, fund-winning project proposals. This transformative module equipped its participants with cutting-edge tools and insights to enhance their grant writing capabilities, aligning with international standards and effectively showcasing their research ambitions. The sessions were incredibly engaging! Through interactive group discussions, activities, and hands-on assignments, the participants mastered the art of creating persuasive, and impactful proposals. They also learned to develop logical frameworks, design actionable project plans, and identify key risks and opportunities—essential skills for securing competitive funding. From theory to practice, uplifting teaching skills! Last week, the academic staff of Heliopolis University went through a transformative learning experience during the latest module of the ESD Program. Titled “ How to Maintain Student Engagement?”, the module provides a hands-on learning opportunity for its participants to enhance their teaching skills and student engagement in the higher education classrooms. Over the course of 2 days, the participants learned about the innovative teaching methods, active learning strategies, human development and adult learning principles, effective curriculum design, and lesson planning. Acting for Academic Stars! The academic staff of Heliopolis University got to step into the spotlight during the “Acting” module by our very own Dr.Tamer El Gazzar during the ESD Program! The participants got the chance to dive into the magic of movement & voice mastery on stage, all while building stronger bonds and enhancing teamwork through the art of acting. Unleash your true power! Last week, the academic staff of Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development delved into a self-exploration journey during “Who am I?” module in the ESD Program. Led by Dr. Nabil Shinder, the participants explored themselves as learners, educators and individuals over the course of the 2-day sessions. They engaged in brainstorming sessions, personal reflection, collaborative group work as well as dynamic discussions; in which they discovered the three dimensions of self awareness: personal, educational and teaching. In addition to his positions as an educational consultant at HU-ESDC, Dr. Shinder is a Lebanese writer and an expert trainer for many local and international NGOs, on the topics of youth, cultural integration, conflict management and creative thinking. Artists in action alert! Last week, Ms. Hana Shawer enabled the academic staff of Heliopolis University to explore elements of artwork development, during the “Fine Arts” module of the ESD Program. During the session, the participants dived deep into self-expression using various materials along with the paint. In this sensory activity, they manipulated wood pieces into the shapes & colors they needed to complete their beautiful paintings and experimented with various painting techniques under the guidance of their talented instructor. Student assessment taken to the next level! Last week, the academic staff of Heliopolis University went through a learning journey during the “Effective Assessment and Evaluation” module as part of the ESD Program. Over the course of 2 days, #HU_ESDC partnered with the renowned Dr. Aisha Osman, who is an international academic consultant with over 40,000 hours of training experience and collaborations with global educational publishers such as Cambridge university Press and McGraw Hill. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Osman, the participants explored innovative ways to design assessments that fairly evaluate knowledge and truly make a difference for the students’ educational journey, thus empowering the participants with valuable insights & practical tools. The participants went through an enriching experience in the interactive sessions that involved group activities and hands-on assignments, which helped them master the international standards of assessment & evaluation. Bring out the actor in you! The academic staff of Heliopolis University enjoyed discovering their hidden acting talent during the ESD Program’s “Acting” module. Led by the exceptional Hamada Shousha, the sessions enabled the participants to explore hidden emotions through various exercises. The sessions also included techniques that encouraged improvisation, self-expression as well as acting performance development.
