We are always excited to see our I4SUD alumni achieving great success in bringing new technologies to market. Congratulations Mamoun Alhamadsheh!
I am very happy to share our lab's recent publication in Nature Communications! https://lnkd.in/gPTybgQE We developed a novel half-life extension technology that represents a new frontier in drug delivery systems, including a single-dose opioid antidote that provides prolonged protection—for several days—against fentanyl overdoses. Our findings also highlight the potential harm of administering very high doses of naloxone while showcasing the added safety and reliability our technology brings to drug delivery systems in addressing the opioid crisis. I am incredibly proud of Dr. Hala Aldawod, the first author, for her pioneering work in advancing this technology. I am also deeply grateful to co-authors Dr. Arjun P. and Rasha Emara for their valuable contributions. A big thank you to the University of the Pacific team and collaborators for making this possible Dengpan Liang, Joshua Ho, Toufiq Ul Amin, Md Tariqul Haque Tuhin, Abdulmalek Balgoname, avishan kiani, Jumana Ajlouny, Melanie Felmlee, Miki Park, Bhaskara Jasti, William Chan, Jim Uchizono Excited to see the impact of this innovation!
