Each bell sound equaled someone who died in 2024. It was for 131 people that were experiencing homelessness (this includes some who eventually transitioned into housing) 11 of the names had been SALT guests. This week, IDignity hosted a collective memorial service where we could honor and mourn those lives together. Unfortunately, there are still people dying on our streets. Today, we had the honor of attending the Homeless Persons Memorial Service, a heartfelt event dedicated to remembering those who passed away this year after experiencing homelessness in Central Florida. This ceremony reminds us of the importance of dignity and compassion for all, and it strengthens our resolve to continue working toward a world where no one has to face homelessness.
