  • In the IEA Wind Task 43 Working Group 1 (Data) monthly meeting yesterday, we had the great pleasure of hearing the incredibly knowledgeable Sirko Schindler from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) talking about the development of an open transport metadata schema. We are hoping to transfer some of this knowledge, as well the the learning experiences, to our work on sematic artefacts in IEA Wind Task 43. • At the last IEA Wind Task 43 monthly meeting, we heard from Edward Fagan (Zero Nexus) and Gareth O'Brien (Microsoft) about their Digital Skills Mapping activity, which is part of our work on understanding how organisational culture affects digitalisation in wind energy. The three steps of this activity are: 👉 1. Identify roles in the wind energy lifecycle to analyse 👉 2. Perform a digital skills gap analysis 👉 3. Describe new roles & competences for a digitalised sector If you are interested in digital skills and skills mapping, and want to join forces to share experiences or align activities, please contact Sarah Barber or sign up for WG2 under "Join us" here: https://lnkd.in/eVUMp8Se OST – Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences Departement Technik OST IET Institut für Energietechnik #windenergy #wedowind #digitalskills

On Dec. 6th we are launching the new IEA Wind Task 43 data user group, which aims to serve as a catalyst in streamlining data analytics within the wind industry. 👉 We want to foster innovation and efficiency by refining and enhancing the processes involved in analysing data generated from wind energy assets. By leading advancements in this field, we strive to optimise the performance and reliability of wind energy systems, contributing to the broader goal of sustainable energy production. 👉 In this IEA Wind Task 43 Webinar Series – Launch of the new “IEA Wind Task 43 data user group”: a new framework for SCADA events and alarm systems, we will focus on identifying ways SCADA alarm codes/events can be effectively used for fault diagnosis, predictive maintenance, root cause analysis and performance optimisation. 👉 If you work with SCADA error codes, you will know that it can be time-consuming to obtain, understand and make them machine-readable. We suggest a unified model for sharing SCADA error codes. But how should this model be built and how should it work? That’s up to the users to define! We will start off this discussion today.
