Call for Papers: TEMSCON Global is the flagship conference of the IEEE TEMS: Technology and Engineering Management Society and is a premier venue for research on management, innovation, and leadership across the spectrum of technology, science, and engineering. Meet Mary Ellen Randall, an IEEE Fellow and member of the IEEE Eta Kappa Nu Honor Society. Ms Randall has been elected as the 2025 IEEE President-Elect and will begin serving as President on 1 January 2026 🎉 Ms Randall is founder / CEO of Ascot Technologies, Inc., an award-winning developer of enterprise applications using mobile data delivery technologies. Previously, she held a variety of technical and management positions at IBM, where she routinely managed projects on an international scale. Ms Randall served on the #IEEE Board of Directors as Treasurer, IEEE Vice President of MGA, R3 Director, and as IEEE WIE Committee Chair, among other leadership roles. In 2016, she founded IEEE MOVE GLOBAL, the international community outreach program for disaster relief and #STEM education, for which she received such awards as the IEEE Haraden Pratt Award. Peer-reviewed academic journals are useful for academics. The challenge is they tend to have a limited readership and a lengthy peer-review process. That means reaching the nonacademic audience has become increasingly detached from academic work. The good news is that practitioner-oriented journals, also known as journals-of-practice, address this gap. These journals feature: • Edited articles written for practitioners, • Adjusted and usually shorter peer-review processes, • Shorter length than traditional research articles, making it easier for managers to find an opportunity to read, and • Convenience of both digital and print issues with subscriptions. Some well-known journals in this field are California Management Review, Harvard Business Review, and MIT Sloan Management Review.
