Through this exciting collaboration, IEMA has been granted exclusive ‘Trade Association Partner’ status. This global partnership, officially launching at the Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo from June 24-26, 2025, at the RAI Exhibition Venue in Amsterdam, aims to drive positive change and innovation in the electrification of the maritime industry. IEMA presented New Headquarters in #Barcelona The board of directors of IEMA has voted to establish its new headquarters in Barcelona starting January 2025. Several factors contributed to this strategic decision: the city's proximity to the heart of innovation in the maritime industry within the EU, its closeness to the International Maritime Organization, and International Standardization Organization, and the strong support from Barcelona as a global leader, particularly through its major public infrastructure, the Port de Barcelona. The organisation will continue to operate through its regional representatives across four continents, with plans to set up full-time offices in the US, EU, China, and the South Pacific. The new headquarters will oversee operations for the global agenda, focusing on membership services, project management, events, and partnerships, with special emphasis on the commercial segment. Exciting News: Adria Jover Appointed to Brooklyn Marine Terminal Evaluatory Committee We’re proud to announce that Adria Jover, President of IEMA, has been selected to join the evaluatory committee for the upcoming Brooklyn Maritime Terminal project. This role will provide IEMA with a unique opportunity to gain early insights into the terminal’s development, allowing us to advise on electric shore power and the #electrification of large-scale public #infrastructure. #Brooklynmarineterminal is set for a major transformation following an announcement in May 2024 by Mayor Eric Adams, Governor Hochul, #NYCEDC, and the Port Authority.
