From AI-powered management platforms to zero-emission aviation solutions, here are five startups building the foundation for a hydrogen-powered future: Hyggle elevates the operational management of green hydrogen infrastructure with its AI-powered Hygrogen4.0 platform. LYTE Aviation's platform offers air transportation that runs on sustainable aviation fuel powered by hydrogen fuel cells; enabling aviation companies to get fast, safe, and cost-effective air taxis and cargo flights. Green Independence is developing a device capable of producing green hydrogen and recycling CO2 using solar energy. Beyond Aero is developing the first hydrogen-powered electric business aircraft, revolutionizing zero-emission aviation. Opportunities for Impact Startups 🌱 1. Amplify Venture is hosting an interactive Online AMA session with an AI expert Cordell Hayes. Cordell helps startups and enterprises cut through the AI hype to find real solutions. The session will be held on Dec 18. Deadline: Dec 17 2. Applications for the Spring 2025 "Tech for Good Programme" are now open. Successful ventures will get £60,000 investment (for 7% equity) as well as support from the Bethnal Green Ventures team and community. Deadline: Jan 5 3. Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) and Seeding The Future Foundation launched a #food innovation challenge with funding for transformative solutions in nutrition, sustainability, and accessibility. Open to scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, NGOs, universities, and small enterprises worldwide developing scalable food system innovations. Deadline: Jan 6 4. The UK's Department of Science, Innovation and Technology is calling on cutting-edge innovators to enter the second #Manchester #Prize. This year, the Manchester Prize is rewarding UK-led breakthroughs in AI that will accelerate action towards the UK’s world-leading target to decarbonise the electricity grid to deliver green power by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050. Ten promising solutions will receive £100k funding and £60k compute credits to compete for £1M grand prize in 2026. Applications on a rolling basis. 5. RURACTIVE launches a two-stage program for European startups and SMEs developing rural innovations. First stage: 36 projects receive €5K and mentoring. Top 24 advance to the 18-month second stage with €85K in funding. Focus areas include sustainable agriculture, tourism, mobility, and energy. Open to EU entities with PIC numbers. These ventures are leveraging cutting-edge #biotechnology and nutritional science to recreate the complex benefits of human milk, ensuring every baby has access to optimal nutrition. From cell-based solutions to microbiome breakthroughs, here are five startups revolutionizing infant feeding: Hulk Bio is creating cell-based human milk, a new category of infant nutrition, when breastfeeding isn't possible and formula just isn't good enough. Nulicious Baby Food offers fresh, organic baby meals designed to meet the nutritional needs of infants, using high-pressure pasteurization to preserve nutrients and flavor. Nūmi is re-creating the magic of in-vivo breast milk in-vitro, offering parents a natural choice when breastfeeding isn't an option. Upli is pioneering a new standard of functional infant formulas by recreating the immune and gut health-boosting proteins found in breast milk that are currently missing in today's formulas. Greentown Labs and Browning the Green Space have launched ACCEL, a year-long program supporting BIPOC-led climate tech startups. Selected founders receive up to $25,000 in non-dilutive funding, Greentown Labs membership with access to $1M+ in resources, VentureWell-led training, and mentorship from industry experts. Deadline: Jan 7 4. Massachusetts Institute of Technology has launched the #Climate and #Energy Prize competition, open to university students worldwide, offering grand prizes up to $100,000.
