Our target group are elementary school pupils aged 8 to 10, an age that scientific research shows is critical, but also the best period for acquiring basic language skills and creating friendships through language 👧 👦 👧 👦 👧 👦 👧 👦 . Children’s view of language and its structure is different from that of adults. That is why we often hear from children unusual thinking about the meanings of words or strange language forms. NanoPoli Centre recognised the importance of language as a universal tool for expressing both their own feelings and thoughts and understanding other disciplines and cultures. Regardless of what professional direction will be chosen, your child needs a correct understanding of the world of science and the skills of condensing thoughts and ideas into proper structures. Only when they master basic language skills, children understand that language is not STATIC but changes along with the development of civilisation, and we, with our specific talents, imagination, skills and gifts, can really influence that flow. 📚Continual learning: Open Minds, Free Minds & Lana Tafi in Action Our esteemed colleague Pavle Zelic from ALIMS as part of our continual education as pharmacists registered at FKRS, gave us a lecture on Falsified Medicines through a global overview. The global statistics on falsified medicines are discouraging, impacting, more or less, every part of the world. But still, there are mechanisms that we all need to work on which can significantly change this “picture”, starting from educating our kids and raising our patients’ awareness. We had a productive discussion after the lecture, addressing real examples in the Region and prevention measures. But we also took this opportunity to organize an informal “round table” :) encompassing representatives of almost all stakeholders - academia, regulators, professional organizations, pharmacies, industry & outsourcing sector. We opened many critical topics, from the development of the profession, new academic programs, and the EU integration projects, to innovations, and many more. This fantastic discussion triggered the need for the next one, involving more colleagues in our mission of learning from 21st-century challenges and turning them into solutions & opportunities. Thank you Pavle for this fantastic lecture and all the initiatives at the EU level. It is an honor to be your classmate (starting from high school, just for the record).
