Inspired by the discussions on the strategic direction of the Global Evaluation Initiative (GEI) at the Partnership Council meeting today. The mission of the GEI is critical for development effectiveness. Evaluation Capacity Development: - Equips decision makers to learn from experience, and to design more effective policies, programs and projects - Helps our country partners to take decisions, based on M&E evidence of what works and what doesn't in their specific context; and - Helps our country partners to course correct as new evidence is produced and as conditions change. As we enter the second phase, we see GEI as a network of excellence in evaluation that connects our partner countries to global excellence in evaluation. A big thank you to the GEI team and our colleagues at the Independent Office of Evaluation of IFAD for a seamless organization and warm hospitality! Lily Chu Dugan Fraser Patrizia Cocca Anna A.
