About us
BetterEvaluation is the knowledge platform of the Global Evaluation Initiative. We work to improve the thoery and practice of evaluation. We work with evaluators, evaluation managers, and evaluation users to co-create and share knowledge about choosing and using evaluation methods and processes. Our website at www.betterevaluation.org supports people to apply this knowledge to their particular circumstances, and to share their experiences and further contribute to learning how to do evaluation better. We believe that Better Evaluation leads to better decisions and better results for people and the planet.

"Reimagining the language of engagement in a post-stakeholder world" explores how the term "stakeholder" can unintentionally reinforce colonial narratives and systemic inequities. Instead of offering a single replacement term, the authors encourage "a focus on the people, places, and species affected by decisions, interventions, projects, and issues." https://lnkd.in/gDievtmC

🎉 Today, join us in celebrating the 4th anniversary of the launch of the Global Evaluation Initiative! 🎉 And because it's our special day, allow us to humble brag just a bit.😉 After all, this milestone is a celebration of the incredible progress made over the years—progress that would not have been possible without the generous support of our partners and donors. 💛 To all our partners and donors, your commitment has enabled us to make a real difference in supporting developing countries worldwide in strengthening their national monitoring and evaluation systems. 🙏 A heartfelt thank you to our parent organizations, the Independent Evaluation Group of The World Bank and the UNDP Independent Evaluation Office, for your guidance and leadership. 🙏 Our gratitude also goes out to the Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, Camões - Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, I.P., the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Agence Française de Développement, Global Affairs Canada | Affaires mondiales Canada, and former GEI donor Sida. 🙏 We also thank the Inter-American Development Bank Office of Evaluation and Oversight (OVE), the Independent Office of Evaluation of IFAD, and UNICEF for their valued contributions. 💎 As we celebrate this milestone, we're once again reminded that every achievement is truly a collective effort.
