The conference was graced by Maj Gen Prof Atul Kotwal, Executive Director of the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), as the Chief Guest, who shared his insights on the need to embed lifestyle medicine in public health strategies and its relevance to achieving sustainable healthcare outcomes while integrating with already existing Health programs and strategies to fight chronic diseases. He explained the transformational changes under the four pillars of Ayushman Bharat programme of GoI especially at the Ayushman Arogya Mandir level and infrastructure enhancement under AB-PM-ABHIM. In his Presidential Address, Dr. Rabbanie Tariq, President of ISLM, stressed the need to shift from reactive to preventive healthcare models, highlighting lifestyle medicine’s role in addressing chronic diseases caused by lifestyle factors such as poor diet and lack of physical activity. The conference featured sessions on critical areas including: - Physician Wellness - Mental Health - Technology in Cardiac Rehab - Neurology & Lifestyle Medicine - Health Coaching - Nutrition - Women’s Health - Lifestyle Medicine in Health Systems with panelists from AIIMS, New Delhi (Dr. Harshal Ramesh Salve) , Dr Amol Wankhede- WHO and GRID Council- Archisman Mohapatra International faculty from Malaysia, Philippines, the U.S. and Canada shared global perspectives. A keynote session by Dr. Dr Shiv Kumar Sarin- Director of ILBS, will be highlighting the lifestyle medicine’s impact on gut flora and metabollic syndrome.
