Since late Saturday night, Indy DPW crews have been on 12-hour shifts to clear snow and treat roads across our city. Today, crews will continue to focus on connector streets - 300+ centerline miles in denser residential areas. These connector streets link neighborhoods and residential areas to the secondary streets and thoroughfares already plowed by Indy DPW Snow Force on standard routes.   Introduced in 2020, this network of “connector” streets replaces the previous “six-inch” rule for engaging plows only after six inches of snow has fallen. Indy DPW crews are continuing on 12-hour shifts and will begin clearing connector streets today, some of which run through residential areas.
