You've probably been hearing *a lot* about abortion lately, but did you know how much of an economic/business/workforce/tech issue this health care truly is? Studies show that abortion access has a significant positive impact on education attainment, earnings, poverty, career outcomes, and reliance on public assistance. In fact, access to abortion for people with an unwanted pregnancy before the age of 24 + increased the probability of completing college by 72% + increased the probability of entering a professional occupation by nearly 40 percentage points + For Black women, increased their earnings per year by 75-100% Conversely, the Turnaway Study shows us that someone being denied an abortion is more likely to live in poverty. SCOTUS has ruled Idaho doctors can provide emergency abortions - for now. That does NOT mean getting an emergency abortion is guaranteed. As we've seen in multiple states from heartbreaking stories, finding the hospital and doctor that won't turn you away is luck of the draw. That's why at ineedana.com we've been tracking where miscarriage management care is available. This summer, we're expanding this data and building new tools to facilitate better referrals. It’s been two years since the fateful day of Roe overturning. I remember feeling stuck and hopeless for the future: for the people who cannot afford to get an abortion, for the people who aren’t ready, and for everyone who deserves to make their own informed choices.
