About us
Founded in 2016, inKind’s mission is to support restaurants and connect consumers with experiences that enrich their everyday moments and commemorate their landmarks. In our eyes, Restaurants don’t just fill your belly, they teach you about culture, mark important milestones in your life and when done right, make you feel like part of a community. They are a vital thread in the fabric of life. inKind was inspired by our experience running a restaurant incubator in Washington D.C. There, we learned what it meant to be good operators, while also designing and testing our latest tech, enhancing the experience for restaurateurs and customers. By identifying the ongoing challenges facing the F&B industry firsthand, we created a unique model to fund restaurant ventures. Through this innovative approach, inKind provides funding to restaurants of all shapes and sizes who are looking to grow. As part of our model, we take credit in the restaurants we fund and from it, market and sell high-dollar gift cards to guests. These customers then interact, transact, and enjoy positive experiences at their favorite restaurants thanks to our dedicated team and inKind app. This flywheel allows inKind to grow, ensures the success of restaurant operators, and provides customers a way to support and discover great restaurants. 🌟 Big Ideas, Bright Lights Last month, we had an incredible experience at the Restaurant Finance & Development Conference in Las Vegas. #RFDC is where industry leaders come together to explore new opportunities, share insights, and shape the future of the restaurant business. Seeing the inKind logo light up Resorts World Las Vegas was a proud moment, and hosting our VIP party gave us the chance to connect with inspiring restaurateurs and financiers. A huge thank-you to everyone we met and our team who attended. We’re excited about the future and what we all can create together. #RFDC #inKind

Reliving the magic of Indulge: Race World Edition at Resorts World Las Vegas. An iconic culinary lineup curated by @IndustryOnlyLA, presented by inKind, and hosted at Resorts World Las Vegas and Ayu DayClub. The food festival was pure culinary bliss and definitely one for the books! “The activation was a great success, thanks to the incredible restaurants that participated. Every food vendor at the event was a restaurant on the inKind platform, which was really cool to see. I was proud of the delicious and diverse food offerings —it truly showcased the talent and creativity of our restaurant partner,” said inKind Co-Founder Andrew Harris. Huge thanks to the chefs, creators, and partners who brought this experience to life, and to everyone who joined us to celebrate during the Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend! One life lost has a profound and far-reaching impact on many. On November 15, 2022, my life changed forever when my youngest brother, Rajan, was killed by gun violence. Raj’s death drew my family into the mission of ending gun violence so that we can prevent other families from going through what we experienced. For months after Raj’s death, I was searching for a way to make a long-term, systematic impact in gun violence prevention. It finally became clear to me how inKind can play a role in preventing gun violence earlier this year when I met Dr. Chethan Sathya MD, a pediatric surgeon in New York who specializes in gunshot victims. Chethan shared that an impactful way to prevent gun violence in America is by providing economic opportunity in underrepresented communities. This made it obvious to me how inKind can help to prevent others from losing a loved one to gun violence. inKind can leverage our superpower of funding and operating financially sustained restaurants to provide job opportunities and workforce development in underrepresented communities, ultimately preventing gun violence. I was honored to attend a convening at the White House in Washington, D.C. last week to discuss the role of the hospitality industry in preventing gun violence. The event was hosted by the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, which has made huge strides in the gun violence prevention field over the past four years, notably through the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. During the event, we discussed strategies for preventing gun violence in America, and how leaders in the hospitality industry can be involved in the solution. By creating jobs in underrepresented communities, restaurants can provide an avenue for economic opportunity, thus preventing gun violence. I look forward to continuing my partnerships with the Milken Institute, Northwell Health, JINYA, DCity Smokehouse, Lion Hospitality, Kitchen of Purpose, Union Square Hospitality Group and more to further the mission of saving lives from gun violence. Losing my brother is the worst thing that has ever happened to my family. Gun violence is a solvable issue, and this has been proven by the reduction in gun violence deaths from the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. Now, it is up to the rest of us to work together to continue executing on the work of gun violence prevention so that we can continue saving lives. My hope is that fewer families in America will ever have to experience what we did. If anyone you know is interested in learning more or getting involved with our future initiatives, please reach out to impact@inkind.com 💛

🏛 inKind went to the White House! inKind was honored to attend a convening at the White House in Washington, D.C. last week. Conversation throughout the day focused on the active role of the hospitality industry in preventing gun violence through providing workforce development, resources and tools in low-income communities. The event was hosted by the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, which is responsible for recommending policy options to promote evidence-based gun violence prevention strategies and promotes related data collection. 💛 Our CEO and co-founder, Johann Moonesinghe, engaged in discussions with key leaders in the gun violence prevention field and hospitality industry. He also shared his personal experience with gun violence. 🎓 We explored how creating youth economic opportunities and job training programs can help address the root causes of community gun violence. Through conversation and collaboration, we are continuing to raise awareness and drive meaningful change. 🤝🌟 #CommunityImpact #GunViolencePrevention #EconomicEmpowerment #RestaurantIndustry #Philanthropy #WhiteHouse #EndGunViolence
