A to-do list for business leaders, innovators and policy makers During the I4N Dinner at the SDG Tent, our participants engaged in dynamic discussions to generate actionable insights for advancing nature-positive solutions. The resulting 18 calls-to-action reflect a broad spectrum of ideas, from fostering more standardization and transparency to promoting investment in innovative and regenerative enterprises. The essence of these recommendations can be summarized in four key areas: 👉 Embrace collaboration: Businesses must see themselves as part of a broader ecosystem and build public-private-philanthropic partnerships. 👉Take sector-specific action: Phase out unsustainable practices, while scaling innovative, regenerative solutions in your sector. 👉Standardize & increase transparency: Develop clear metrics, enhance data accessibility, and strengthen accountability to embed sustainability into business practices. 👉Invest in nature-positive solutions: Prioritize funding for regenerative entrepreneurs and initiatives that value nature's true worth. Over the coming weeks, we will dive further into each area and share the respective CTAs. Stay tuned! The link to all 18 CTAs is in the comments. #Sustainability #NaturePositive #Collaboration #Leadership

About us
Innovate 4 Nature is an accelerator that supports the development of nature-positive solutions, fostering collaboration with companies, foundations, and investors seeking innovative approaches to biodiversity. By connecting these stakeholders, we aim to address nature risks and promote nature-positive business models. The loss of biological diversity threatens the very foundations of our society, posing risks to food security, our health and businesses. We need nature-positive Solutions that protect, sustainably manage and restore natural ecosystems while providing human well-being and halt or reverse nature loss. According to upcoming regulations and strategies in the EU to promote biodiversity, there will be requirements to invest in nature and accelerate NbS. This is a new investment area and will require more robustness through qualified assessments based on the IUCN Global Standard for NbS and a platform for solutions, corporates, foundations and investors.

Companies have only 5 years to align with the UN’s Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). Yet, most aren’t moving fast enough. A recent study from engageability , in collaboration with Enfinit in Switzerland and FUNDES in Latin America, exposes a major disconnect: In Switzerland: → 54% of companies recognize nature as a material topic. → But only 26% explicitly address biodiversity. In Latin America: → 58% acknowledge nature. → Yet just 36% consider biodiversity a key issue. Why should these numbers be a concern for companies? Because biodiversity supports ecosystem resilience, stabilizes supply chains, and protects long-term profitability. When biodiversity collapses, industries feel it first—through supply chain breakdowns, resource shortages, and financial losses. And we’re already seeing the impact: 1. Floods, droughts, and environmental damage are making key resources harder to access. 2. Those ignoring biodiversity today are exposing themselves to long-term financial instability. 3. Some companies are watching their stock prices drop as supply chains get hit by climate and nature-related disruptions. Here’re the actions steps companies must take to reduce biodiversity disruptions: ✅ Assess biodiversity risks and impacts across operations. ✅ Commit to smart and impact-oriented targets in alignment with TNFD and GBF. ✅ Transform business models with nature-positive solutions for example from I4N ✅ Disclose and increase transparency and drive collective action. At engageability , we help companies do all of the above. And at Innovate 4 Nature we create the solutions to transform business models or value chains. Has your company already taken these action steps? If not yet, send me a message. Our network of sustainability experts can support you in identifying biodiversity risks in your value chain and help you secure them.

Thank you, Impact Gstaad, for this incredibly well-crafted event, full of fruitful exchanges. André Hoffmann presented his remarkable book The New Nature of Business, Doris Leuthard handed over the Green Business Award, and sustainable business pioneer Margaretha Hoek Hoek delivered powerful insights. I4N congratulates the winner of the Green Business Award, New Roots AG, as well as the finalists Algrano, SELFRAG 👏
New Roots AG wins the Green Business Award! 🎉 Congratulations to Alice Fauconnet, Freddy Hunziker and the entire team at New Roots! 💚 The Green Business Award, presented by Green Business Switzerland, is the most prestigious sustainability prize in Switzerland, recognizing companies each year that combine ecological impact with economic success. If we want to save our planet, the economy must be part of the solution. The Green Business Award was awarded today at the #ImpactCircleEvent. During this event, the three companies Algrano, New Roots AG, and SELFRAG had the opportunity to present their solutions to potential investors. New Roots impressed the jury, led by Jury President Doris Leuthard, the most. The company produces plant-based cheese and dairy products using traditional Swiss methods – with up to 60% less CO₂ emissions compared to cheese made from cow’s milk. Why is this so important? Cheese is the food with the second-largest ecological footprint, right after beef. Doris Leuthard summarizes why New Roots won this year's Green Business Award: “New Roots creates ecological impact through a blend of innovation and tradition and is also economically very successful.” We are honored to host this event and provide inspiring companies like New Roots, Algrano, and Selfrag the opportunity to grow further. The Green Business Award is a strong signal for the shift towards a more sustainable economy – and we are proud to be part of it! #GreenBusinessSwitzerland #GreenBusinessAward #ImpactGstaad #ImpactCircleEvent

🌿 Mobilizing #PrivateFinance for #Biodiversity Yesterday at OECD - OCDE, experts from around the world discussed innovative ways to mobilize private finance for biodiversity, with a particular focus on developing countries and emerging markets. What are the new action items I take away: 📘 Develop Best Practices: Create and share best practices for impact measurement and reporting in biodiversity investments. 💰 Investment Models and Strategies: Make nature investable through funds focusing on real assets. 🔍 Explore Clustering Opportunities: Investigate methods for clustering small-scale projects into larger investment portfolios. 🌐 Foster Partnerships: Strengthen partnerships between public and private sectors to enhance resource mobilization and expertise sharing. 🛠️Creating Enabling Environments: National frameworks and policies to support biodiversity investments. 🚀 Innovate Financial Mechanisms: Continue developing and testing new financial mechanisms, such as guarantees, bonds, and other instruments, to de-risk investments and attract private finance for biodiversity, while leveraging concessional finance to draw in private investment. 💚 The sessions underscored the importance of collaboration, innovation, and practical examples in mobilizing private finance for biodiversity. Let's work together to create scalable investment models that make nature investable and drive sustainable development! 🎉 A big thank you to the organizers: Dominique Blaquier and Juan Casado-Asensio 💬 Join the conversation! How can we further enhance private finance for biodiversity? 🌱 #Biodiversity #SustainableFinance #PrivateFinance #ImpactInvestment #Collaboration #Innovation

Tonight, we’re surrounded by visionary leaders, innovators, and changemakers dedicated to building a nature-positive future. ✨ One Highlight from the Evening: The interview with Paul Polman and an important statement he made: To drive meaningful change, it's not about having many people - it's about having the right people. The most impactful innovations that large corporations need often come from smaller companies. Big companies rely heavily on others because they are not always the most creative. 💡 Why this matters: We’re discussing the urgent need to scale innovative solutions that protect biodiversity while creating value for businesses and people. 💻 Join the conversation!
