This month, #INNOVIT was thrilled to host an incredible delegation of startups as part of the Italian G7 ITALIA and UNDP's landmark San Francisco AI Conference. The event brought together leaders from across the globe to advance #AI equity and build #sustainable, #inclusive public-private partnerships. Here’s a spotlight on the inspiring #African AI startups we had the privilege of welcoming: IRIF (Ethiopia): Tackling agricultural challenges with cutting-edge AI solutions to empower farmers and enhance productivity. IrWise (Tunisia): Innovating AI-driven tools to optimize energy usage and sustainability. NextAV (Tunisia): Advancing AI technologies in healthcare to revolutionize diagnostics and patient care. TradePulse Inc. (Kenya): Leveraging AI to enable small businesses and traders to access vital market insights and growth opportunities. Kytabu (Kenya): Transforming education with AI-powered tools to make learning accessible and engaging for all. Together, they demonstrated how technology can bridge gaps and drive meaningful change in sectors like energy, agriculture, health, and education in Africa. The event wasn’t just a conference it was a movement, laying the groundwork for responsible AI adoption and fostering collaboration across #G7 countries and Africa. Like the drafting of the UN Charter in 1945 here in San Francisco, this gathering marks another pivotal moment in shaping a better, inclusive future. We were proud to have run this program in partnership with the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS), the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, the Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale, CDP Venture Capital SGR, CDP Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, and the International Telecommunication Union. An Incredible Evening! Last night’s #DemoDay was truly special, bringing together some of the brightest minds in the #SpaceIndustry. La seconda edizione di #Up2Stars, programma di accelerazione di Intesa Sanpaolo, si è conclusa all'Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II. Sono state selezionate 80 startup su oltre 100 candidate, con 49 accessi alla Lounge Elite-Gruppo Euronexte collaborazioni avviate con settori come automotive e moda. Dodici startup sono state accelerate nella Silicon Valley grazie all'INNOVIT - Italian Innovation and Culture Hub di San Francisco. Alla cerimonia hanno partecipato Matteo Lorito, rettore dell'Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Giuseppe Nargi, direttore regionale Campania Calabria e Sicilia di Intesa Sanpaolo, e Serena Fumagalli, economista, Research Department Intesa Sanpaolo. Sono state presentate cinque startup: Joule (Campodarsego), Keplera (Palermo), Novac Technology Solutions (Modena), Oraigo (Padova), Plino (Torino). We were honored to host an impactful event at INNOVIT from November 11th to 13th, organized by the G7 Italian Presidency and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with the support of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) and the Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco. This gathering brought together leaders, investors, and innovators from technology, academia, and government—all dedicated to shaping the future of AI and emerging technologies through meaningful public-private partnerships. Event Highlights: AI Adoption for MSMEs: Through engaging discussions, we explored the adoption paths of AI and focused on its future applications and challenges. Seeing the G7 report on AI underline the value of AI for small and medium enterprises worldwide was inspiring. The AI Hub for Sustainable Development: We were especially proud to spotlight the G7-UNDP AI Hub initiative, aimed at strengthening AI infrastructure in Africa. As part of this initiative, we’re excited to play a role in supporting a startup accelerator for African innovators—an effort we believe will foster real change.
