OSHA has completed a 15-year journey that now makes certain construction workers have the same PPE protections as general industry and maritime workers. The PPE in Construction rulemaking effort is now a final rule. The rule’s two requirements are direct and straightforward: Make sure the PPE: 1. Is of safe design and construction for the work to be performed 2. Is selected to ensure that it properly fits each affected employee The nation’s construction workforce deserves this! ISEA members, staff and friends gathered last night at the Library of Congress in Washington DC to celebrate industry greats at the ISEA Foundation Awards Ceremony. We were entertained and inspired by worker advocate and host of ‘Dirty Jobs’ Mike Rowe, who was presented with a top industry award for his efforts over many years to promote worker safety and protection. From safety glasses to gloves, the right PPE can make all the difference—whether you’re on the job or avoiding the dinner table. 🦃 😉 We are incredibly thankful for our members who work tirelessly to keep workers safe. 🙏 Wishing you a happy, healthy, and safe Thanksgiving! 

Fewer than half of workers who experienced fall-related head injuries wore any type of head protection. Despite the genuine risks, it’s hard to change human behavior. A recent ISEA & J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc. study revealed that workplace safety professionals face four big head-protection challenges.
