In the Black American community, Black youth often face unique challenges such as racial bias, structural racism, and a lack of resources and guidance. Mentorship plays a big role in shaping the future of Black youth and has the potential to change lives! According to Forward Together, more than half of Black youth wished they had a mentor, but didn’t have anyone to reach out to for support. It’s Nola strives to close this gap by providing mentorship support to community college students, where they possess untapped potential but lack the proper resources to realize it.
