Day 1 Recap: IWCA 2025 Board and Staff Meeting in Guatemala What an inspiring start to our time in Guatemala! Yesterday we gathered in the evening for delicious treats and connection as a group at Executive Director, Blanca Castro’s lovely home. Today, we had the honor of visiting the incredible Anacafé Guatemala facility, where we experienced firsthand the dedication and innovation fueling Guatemala’s coffee industry. Highlights of the day included: 🌱 A fascinating presentation on Guatemala’s efforts to promote regenerative farming practices and sustainable harvests of high-quality coffee. ☕️ A delightful cupping session and sensory experience that deepened our appreciation for the complexity and richness of Guatemalan coffee. 🧪 An impressive tour of the Anacafe laboratory, showcasing their cutting-edge work in coffee quality and sustainability. A heartfelt thank you to our gracious hosts for your warm hospitality and for sharing the impactful work you do to support the coffee community in Guatemala. The knowledge and inspiration we gained today will guide us as we continue our mission to empower women across the coffee value chain.
