Jericho Foundation

We want to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to our alumni, Zorana, for coming to the U.S. and serving as a speaker at our Annual Night of Hope. She stayed with her host family, the Harper's, and we would like to extend our public appreciation to them as well. During her visit, Zorana attended a networking event where she was introduced and had the opportunity to share her reasons for being in the States. She also conducted donor visits, spent time with our Executive Director, Kellie Simmons, and spent an evening with the founder of Jericho, Joanna Shields.

Our student mentors are an integral part of our holistic scholarship program. They offer educational, physical, and emotional support. "Having a mentor means having someone who is there in front of you to support your dedication and who is providing you with guidelines, resources, and sometimes even conversations that you wouldn't even know you needed.  I have such a strong ambition to grow not only in the field of medical science but also to build some other strengths that would help me become a better doctor - having a mentor has been extremely helpful and important."

Kathy and John Kinkema received this year's Briana Arra Award. They have long championed youth and education, embracing Jericho's mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their support—hosting students, offering internships, and volunteering in Conversational English—has transformed lives.  ------------ The Brian Arra Award, established in 2012, honors an unsung hero of the Jericho Foundation. Brian Arra was a dedicated supporter who selflessly served the foundation's mission, responding to every need with quiet commitment. Although he passed away in 2010, his legacy lives on through this award, recognizing those who make invaluable yet unrecognized contributions to our success.

During our Annual Night of Hope, Sime and Beth Curković were awarded the Hope Award. The Curkovics have been instrumental in Jericho's journey, attending early leadership seminars, serving on the board, and sharing valuable insights. Their contributions are profound. They've inspired giving through Bosnian Bloom bouquets and led with humility and generosity. ------- The HOPE Award was established in 2009 to recognize the philanthropic contributions of Jericho supporters and volunteers. With this award, we acknowledge the tireless efforts of those who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to the Jericho Foundation's mission.
