Fantastic to be invited into Grant Thornton UK LLP today and have their support over the coming year.
Great to have JERICHO in the Birmingham office today creating a buzz. They are a group of seven social enterprises working to support work opportunities for people facing extreme challenges in getting a job. We had Christmas decorations to buy from their The Wood Shack initiative that prevents waste wood going to landfill. A lovely spread from their ChangeKitchen ensured everyone was well feed. The whole office is look forward to seeing how else we can support them throughout the year. All driven by the Partners and local sustainability group wanting to ensure we think about the social impact we can have. Thank you Alex Hyde, Matt Buckingham and Michelle Perry and others involved. More of these type of initiatives to come as we have now joined Social Enterprise UK Andy Daly to help us.

How many lives do these 6 #socialenterprise cleaning companies change? (Answer below) Employing refugees, the homeless, people who've struggled with addiction, those who've been in prison, people who are deaf, serious mental health struggles...and just those who need a decent employer in an unjust system. And supporting a hospice too! It was a joy for Connie Pringle and I to host Gemma Zweck, Charlie Walker, Amie GRICE, Michael Gladwell, Paul Gray, Richard Flowers and Nigel. We missed you Michael Brickliffe and La'toyah Lewis B.A Hons! This is all about collaboration, support and building meaningful relationships. We share ideas, policies and hard earned knowledge. Why? To create more social impact across the country. Could your business work with one of these super six? --- PS How many? Over 350 #LifeChangingJobs 🙌 Social Enterprise UK #SocialEnterpriseDay #SocEnt

Great to be with other cleaning Social Enterprise UK companies across the UK yesterday! Investing in people who face major barriers to work, employing refugees, sharing profits for a local hospice, working with those who are deaf, impacting the lives of cleaners for good, dismantling the flawed system they operate in, and paying cleaners the #RealLivingWage. Inspiring time! Real sense of openness, transparency and wanting to learn. A very different feel to other meetings, more of these in the business world! Thankyou to Grace Enterprises for hosting, and great to be with Upbeat Clean Argonaut Community Enterprises Radiant Cleaners St Helena JERICHO

It was a pleasure having you visit last week! Thank you to you and your team for your generous support.
Last week, I visited Jericho, a social enterprise in Birmingham dedicated to transforming lives. Jericho’s mission is to support survivors of modern-day slavery and tackle youth unemployment in Birmingham, by offering them meaningful employment and training opportunities. One of their projects, The Wood Shack, repurposes wood (destined for landfill) into valuable materials for reuse. Beyond the environmental benefits, this initiative also serves as an apprenticeship hub, empowering individuals with hands-on skills in carpentry and recycling, whilst opening pathways to brighter futures. It has been a pleasure for the Tame Valley project team to support Jericho in their mission of transforming peoples lives and the planet. #socialvalue #sustainability #recycling #transforminglives Taziker VolkerFitzpatrick Ltd Abigail Cattanach-Elsden

Fantastic to have THOR HAMMER COMPANY LIMITED visit our The Wood Shack & ReUsers social enterprises last week and to have them as a waste wood collection customer.
Last week, we had the pleasure of visiting JERICHO The Reusers and The Wood Shack in Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield – and we were truly amazed! 🌲✨ The creative reuse of wood at Jericho Wood Shack, especially their stunning Christmas decorations, blew us away. Not only are they crafting beautiful, sustainable pieces, but they’re also making a real impact on the community. We were equally impressed by The Reusers, who are selling Christmas decorations. All the proceeds from these two organisations support Jericho’s amazing charity work. As a company, we’re proud to support Jericho Wood Shack in their mission, helping them collect our waste wood and turning it into something truly special. Keep up the fantastic work, Jericho Wood Shack and The Reusers – we can’t wait to see what you create next! Your nomination could help us win £1,000 in Benefact Group's 12 Days of Giving Christmas draw! ⭐ Please nominate us here... https://lnkd.in/ehDtfvjv Thanks for your support ❤️
Please take a couple of moments to nominate JERICHO for a chance to win a festive £1000 from Benefact Group's Christmas draw. Jericho are helping to address Birmingham's stubborn and alarming unemployment rates by supporting people facing extreme challenges in getting a job. If you have never had a job it is hard to get one especially when you couple this with other challenges such as health and wellbeing needs, education barriers and communication difficulties. Our projects are designed to help level the playing field and provide a 'stepping-stone' into mainstream employment. #Birmingham #JERICHO #SocialMobility #employment https://lnkd.in/eenVg5KE

A huge thank you to Associated Architects for choosing us for their Steptember Charity fundraiser! The £1,000 they raised could provide four months of English lessons for our survivors of modern slavery and will make a real difference to our participants lives.
Our Steptember Charity fundraiser raised £1,000 for Birmingham-based social enterprise JERICHO, a charity and family of seven social enterprises that provides supported work opportunities for people facing extreme challenges in getting a job. We were really proud to support a charity that help marginalised young people and survivors of modern slavery. Rebecca Stone from Jericho said: “We really appreciate being chosen as Associated Architects charity of choice. To give the donation perspective, £1,000 could pay for work PPE and uniform for ten of our new Autumn term apprentices or provide four months of English lessons for our survivors of modern slavery. It’s going to make a real difference our participants lives.” You can read more on our website: https://lnkd.in/e_H6XyX7
