The Joby electric air taxi is available to fly in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, so we put together an overview of how to fly the aircraft using one of our planned service routes as an example: JFK Airport to Downtown Manhattan (JRB). In this video, Joby software engineer and private pilot William Shen explores the Joby aircraft's unique design and flight controls, its implementation into MSFS 2024, and offers some tips and tricks for pilots to enjoy flying the aircraft in-game. https://lnkd.in/e_airfge

We're very pleased to see New York City & the NYC Economic Development Corporation leaning into the quieter, cleaner future of vertical flight with the selection of Skyports Infrastructure and Groupe ADP to operate and electrify the Downtown Manhattan Heliport (JRB). Last year, we completed a series of exhibition flights from Downtown Manhattan, and we’re excited to fly from the heliport again when we launch in NYC! Skyports Infrastructure is also our partner in Dubai, where they recently broke ground on a vertiport at DXB International with plans for three more initial sites across the Emirate.

A few highlights from our Q3 2024 results: Toyota investment and partnership: Building on nearly seven years of collaboration, Toyota committed to investing an additional $500 million in Joby, as part of an agreement that includes plans to establish a manufacturing alliance. See shareholder letter for closing conditions. First international demonstration: We completed a number of exhibition flights at Toyota’s Higashi-Fuji Technical Center in Japan, using our third production prototype aircraft which rolled off the production line less than three months prior. Test and Certification: We made more Stage 4 FAA progress than during any prior quarter. We reached a major landmark on our journey to type certification with the completion of our first FAA-conforming major sub-assembly, an aircraft tail. Our fourth production prototype is nearing completion and will join our flight test program shortly. Regulatory progress: In the U.S., we welcomed the publication of new operating regulations that lay the groundwork for the launch of commercial operations. We made important progress with regulators in each of our targeted launch markets. Community engagement: We hosted a number of events in early launch markets, from LA to NYC, experiencing great enthusiasm as we engaged with key stakeholders as well as more than 75,000 community members. Fortress balance sheet: At the end of the third quarter of 2024, we maintained a strong balance sheet with $710 million in cash and short-term investments. This balance does not include the approximately $222 million raised through a follow-on equity offering completed in October 2024 or the expected Toyota investments totaling $500 million. Our full Q3 2024 shareholder letter is available on our website: https://lnkd.in/evCxeVYX Joby management will host a live audio webcast of its conference call to discuss the results at 2:00 p.m. PT (5:00 p.m. ET) today, accessible from our investor website: https://lnkd.in/g67nTPp2

🗾 🛩️ With Mount Fuji as our backdrop, we completed our first ever international flight earlier this week, celebrating nearly seven years of collaboration between Toyota Motor Corporation and Joby. Taking off from the Toyota Technical Center in Higashi-Fuji, we were able to demonstrate the low acoustic footprint of our aircraft and welcome guests including Akio Toyoda, Chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation, Ted Ogawa, CEO of Toyota North America, and Hiroki Nakajima, CTO. We’re incredibly grateful to be working side-by-side with the world’s largest automaker as we realize our shared vision for the future of mobility and look forward to taking the next step on our journey together.
