    AOV is next up in our review of BFCM performance, here are the key ways our customers pushed cart values higher in 2024: 1. The top 2 strategies contributing to higher AOV were: a. Gamification b. Countdown timers driving urgency (real ones not fake deadlines) 2. Mobile carts increased 14.7% in value over 2023 while desktops increased 28.5%. Combined with the higher conversion rate on desktops and the higher engagement rate on mobile, it's clear that different experiences are necessary to fit the fluid shopping habits of today. 3. Pop-ups with forms vs. not were close in AOV; $297 without and $318 with an opt-in. Refresh lead capture designs in the new year and run A/B tests to optimize them. AOV can be a trickier metric to optimize for during high sales volume periods and brands did a good job this year of protecting their bottom lines!

  • This week shipping cutoffs start for most carriers! Make sure your customers know when they'll need to order by for guaranteed delivery or atleast have to get expedited shipping. Great for managing expectations, increasing AOV in exchange for upgraded shipping, and more!     Overall the top performing 10% of Justuno customers who have fully optimized their website experience had an average sales conversion rate of 49.7% (Justuno avg. customer 14.5%, Industry avg. 2.5%). Key ways they achieved this are: 1. Cart abandonment by SKU 🛒 This delivered a 67.7% engaged conversion rate. Meaning 67.7% of exiting visitors with specific items in their carts who saw an exit pop-up converted into a sale. This should stop you in your tracks. If you aren’t running at least a cart abandonment pop-up you’re leaving money on the table. Double points if you’re segmenting it by SKU, price, etc. even better. This will print you money in 2025. 2. Returning abandoned window shopper 👀 This delivered a 37% engaged CVR. Lots of price comparisons during the holidays so targeting these returning visitors is an obvious win. Do this during your brand’s busy times next year for an easy ROI. 3. Gamification for new and return visitors 🎲 This delivered a 13% CVR—while we normally say keep it simple for BFCM this year games were a winner! Adding this playful element keeps shoppers engaged and your brand top of mind. 4. Product recommendations throughout site 👍 Coming in with a 21.9% engaged CVR this personalization tactic was key in helping product discovery and gifting shoppers figure out what they want. A strong sales weekend with some big wins for brands this holiday season. Stay tuned as I'll share more specific insights on metrics next week!
