The KAED Economic Forum and Annual Meeting is just around the corner in downtown Louisville. While each day provides endless opportunities to learn and network, the evenings are filled with fun and more networking. During the conference, scheduled for December 9-11 at the Hyatt in downtown Louisville, we will host receptions at Derby City Gaming and Number 15, with entertainment provided by singer/songwriter Cotter Hill.

Kentucky Association for Economic Development Advocate. Educate. Connect. KAED is the state’s premier organization dedicated to promoting and facilitating economic development in the Commonwealth. The purpose of the Kentucky Association for Economic Development (KAED) is to educate, advocate and connect our association members. Our membership covers all parts and aspects of the industry in Kentucky, from rural to urban areas. This allows us to provide a broad array of resources and expertise in the field of economic development. We are an active presence at our state’s capital in Frankfort. Our staff and Public Policy Committee work year round with legislators and other business organizations to develop sound economic development policy. We provide our members with timely and pertinent legislative updates so that they are informed on how the actions in Frankfort will impact their communities. The KAED staff, board members and committee members/volunteers of KAED are dedicated to providing leadership and a vision to advance economic development professionals and economic development. Gina Greathouse currently serves on the KAED board of Directors. She is a native of Franklin County and has been working in the field of economic development for over 30 years. Doing economic development for the Bluegrass since April of 1995, she is currently the Executive Vice President for Economic Development and is responsible for Commerce Lexington Inc.'s economic development mission. Prior to her current appointment, she was employed by the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development. She has traveled throughout the state, country and internationally working to recruit companies to Kentucky and the Bluegrass Region. A resident of Fayette County, Gina graduated from the University of Kentucky’s College of Business and Economics. She has served the community in several capacities throughout her career. Most notably, she is co-chair for Central Kentucky’s Bluegrass Alliance. She currently sits on the boards of LexArts, the Business and Education Network, Opportunities for Work and Learning and the World Trade Center of Kentucky. She is a member of the Kentucky Association for Economic Development, Japan America Society of Kentucky, International Economic Development Council, and Industrial Asset Management Council. They say that every good thing must come to an end...Gina Hampton Greathouse’s term on the KAED Board of Directors is about to do just that, as she has served the maximum time allowed. Although a loss for KAED, Gina has served this organization for many years and has been a consummate advocate, not only for KAED but for economic development and ED professionals throughout the Commonwealth. She will be missed, but we are sure to find other places for her to use her many talents and continue to support KAED.
