About us
Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) is the preeminent international nongovernmental organization devoted to the protection of unaccompanied and separated children. KIND envisions a world in which every unaccompanied child on the move has access to legal representation and has their rights and well-being protected as they migrate alone in search of safety. In 2008, KIND was founded by the Microsoft Corporation and Co-Founder and Patron Angelina Jolie to address the gap in legal services for unaccompanied children. KIND now has offices and staff across the United States, Mexico, and Europe. Our team, and KIND’s extensive network of private sector pro bono and NGO partners provide unaccompanied children with innovative holistic care that includes legal representation and assistance and psychosocial support. KIND has been in Poland delivering three capacity building workshops this week building child centered multidisciplinary and interagency pathways to protect children displaced from Ukraine with its Suzir’ya project, funded by the Howard G Buffett Foundation. We are grateful for the cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and Administration in delivering these workshops with the support of Norway Grants. The workshops have brought together national and international experts from civil society, justice and child protection to discuss how we can better work together to meet the needs of children displaced from #Ukraine. -- KIND w tym tygodniu prowadził w Polsce trzy warsztaty budujące potencjał w zakresie budowania multidyscyplinarnych i międzyagencyjnych ścieżek ochrony dzieci przesiedlonych z Ukrainy w ramach projektu Suzir'ya, finansowanego przez Fundację Howarda G. Buffetta. Jesteśmy wdzięczni za współpracę z Ministerstwem Spraw Wewnętrznych i Administracji, które wsparło realizację tychże warsztatów przy współfinansowaniu przez rząd Norwegii. Warsztaty zgromadziły krajowych i międzynarodowych ekspertów ze społeczeństwa obywatelskiego, wymiaru sprawiedliwości i ochrony dzieci, aby omówić, w jaki sposób możemy lepiej współpracować, aby zaspokoić potrzeby dzieci przesiedlonych z Ukrainy.
