A Message from Executive Director, Martha Lemire As I begin my tenure as Executive Director, I cannot be more honored to have been selected to lead Kimball Jenkins in its new chapter. This is a pivotal time for the organization as a whole - to reflect, to embrace the opportunities of the present, and to prepare for the future. In my first few weeks at Kimball Jenkins, I’ve witnessed the need and value of our programs. From summer camp, adult art continuing education classes and workshops, our Summer Heat exhibition, and scheduled special community events, the campus is active and welcoming hundreds of community members of all ages. This energy and sense of a new beginning is inspirational. Over the next few months, we will be working hard to introduce the community to a rejuvenated, stronger, balanced Kimball Jenkins serving all members of our community through fresh opportunities and partnerships. Central to our success is the needed and unwavering support from our community. Please consider supporting our “Together We Soar” campaign in which we are seeking contributions to assist Kimball Jenkins in reaching greater heights and elevating our future. Any amount is appreciated. With your support, there is no limit to how high we can soar! Thank you in advance for your consideration. I am confident that with you by our side, Kimball Jenkins will continue to thrive and emerge stronger than ever. Your tax deductible contributions can be accepted through this link: https://lnkd.in/eQ9FG9aF I appreciate your consideration and look forward to sharing our stories and progress as we embark on this new journey. Regards, Martha Lemire Executive Director

Please join us this summer! Kimball Jenkins presents Summer Heat, July 1-August 30, 2024 266 N Main Street, Concord, New Hampshire 03301 Summer Heat features paintings by four New England artists whose works will be on view at the Kimball Jenkins Carriage House and Mansion from July 1 through August 30. The exhibition will provide a welcome respite from the summer heat, and a fresh new perspective provided by these artists, who are new to capital area audiences. New Hampshire artists Grant Drumheller and Michele Johnsen, and Massachusetts artists Andrae Green and Priya N. Green respond to the theme of Summer Heat in various and surprising ways. The hot, vibrant, colors of Andrae Green’s large canvases reflect his upbringing in Kingston, Jamaica and explore family, relationships and human connections through scenes of divers in motion and harbor scenes. Priya N. Green’s paintings attempt to visually capture and connect with the ephemeral, intangible figures engaged in urban uprisings half a world away, who are only seen and distilled through a television screen; Grant Drumheller’s expansive aerial views of crowds of people in public squares, beaches and city parks were inspired by his residency at the American Academy in Rome and by his subsequent European travels. Drumheller’s canvases are rendered with careful attention to light, expressionistic color and gestural marks; Michele Johnsen explores her North Country landscape, above and beneath its surface, through abstracted forms and highly saturated color as she attempts to capture communication that takes place without human interference. Summer Heat has been curated by Inez McDermott, Independent Curator and Professor Emerita of Art History at New England College, and Gary Samson, 7th Artist Laureate of New Hampshire and Professor Emeritus of Photography, Institute of Art and Design at New England College. The community is welcome to view the exhibit Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. A scheduled artists’ reception is planned for Friday, July 12, 5-7 pm. All are welcome. Kimball Jenkins is a 501(c)3 organization located in downtown Concord, NH. The community cultural center is celebrating 40 years of creating strong relationships within our local community through art, history, and culture.

To all of our supporters: On behalf of the Board of Directors, I’m writing to express our sincere gratitude for your connection to Kimball Jenkins. Each and every one of you plays an integral role in our community of students, artists, and neighbors. You may have heard by now that we have just made some staffing changes. What we do here truly takes a village. It takes our friends and neighbors of all identities who show up. It takes the generosity of major charitable donors, sponsorships and, of course, you. And it takes the tireless work of our incredible faculty and staff. To that end, the Board is constantly calibrating the balance of revenues and costs needed to both support KJ’s mission and sustain the organization, and this has resulted in us making some very difficult staffing changes. None of it has been easy especially for those we have let go. We want to send a heartfelt thank you to all of our staff who have established countless new community partnerships and who will continue to enable us to host forward-thinking exhibits from a diverse array of artists, as well as our popular art classes, summer camp, and other visionary programming. As we move forward, we want to hear from you about what the future can hold. Please keep an eye out for opportunities to provide your input as our staff continues to make an impact on this wonderful and diverse community. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to reach out to me at nannunobis@gmail.com with your thoughts. On behalf of the entire board - Thank you! Nannu Nobis Chair, Board of Directors
