Built on Passion for Generations.

About us

Since 1946, the Segal family has led their personal and professional endeavors with unwavering passion. And over the past 75 years, their ambitions have formed many successful businesses and philanthropic initiatives. With a future-focused mindset, the Segal’s have shaped robust investment and development brands dedicated to some of the Pacific Northwest’s most iconic real estate projects. Kingswood Properties was established on the Segal family’s guiding principle of building and investing in quality over quantity. Preferring not to focus on mass production projects, President Lorne Segal, O.B.C., D.Litt.(Hon.), LLD.(Hon.), accredits the pedigree of location and the calibre of design as key contributors to creating historic landmarks. His obsession for details runs deep, and when Lorne pioneered super-luxury living in Vancouver two decades ago with The Kingswood, a world-class residential tower, he was intimately involved with every decision from the formation of custom floor-to-ceiling curved glass to personal services to the types of plants used in the gardens. Even the chalk lines used by the construction team were inspected by Lorne’s discerning eye. The appetite for achievement comes from Lorne’s father Joseph Segal who, to this day, respects a hard day’s work. A World War II veteran, Joseph began his entrepreneurial journey in Vancouver with a modest war surplus store, eventually building the business into a formidable manufacturing and retail empire that later expanded into real estate. “The greatest lesson I have learned from my father was that if you want something out of business, family, or life in general, you have to invest in that. What you put in is what you get out.” As a second-generation leader for the past 35 years, Lorne Segal has grown Kingswood Properties’ development portfolio to include multiple one-of-a-kind architectural landmark projects while expanding his family’s philanthropic efforts.

The changing colours of the leaves are the perfect backdrop to highlight the progress we’re making at Redbridge Squamish in partnership with Kingswood Properties! 🍁🏔️ 🚧 The red accent on the West Building is now complete, marking a key milestone in wrapping up the exterior cladding for all three condo buildings. The Townhouse cladding is well underway, with a metal roof in place and earth-toned finishes starting to complement the waterfront setting. 🚧 Our main focus is now on the Amenity Building, where stone cladding is being installed and the spa area is starting to take shape. 🚧 The courtyard is fully membraned, and we’re excited to begin seeing landscaping features come to life over the next few months. 🚧 Shoreline improvements are also underway, creating a beautiful new pedestrian pathway along the waterfront. Plus, if you look closely, you’ll spot the civil upgrades enhancing the surrounding neighborhood—retaining walls, widened roads, and freshly paved streets. With colder weather approaching, we’re shifting gears to interior finishes. Stay tuned for more updates as this vibrant community continues to take shape! President at Kingswood Properties

This Remembrance Day, I encourage you to take a moment to remember those who have served—and continue to serve—Canada in times of war, conflict, and peace. Today, I’d like to share the story of my late father, Joe Segal. At just 18, he was sent to Europe in 1944 as part of the Canadian Army’s mission to liberate Belgium and Poland. In this video, I had the privilege of sharing his story with 20,000 young teenage leaders in Vancouver in 2019, the year marking the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II. After two years overseas, my father returned home to Vancouver and began his entrepreneurial journey, ultimately building Kingswood Capital. "At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them." Lest we forget.

From an industrial site to a park — introducing Miyíw̓ts Park in Squamish. Last week, we celebrated the official opening of Miyíw̓ts Park at our SEAandSKY masterplan community in partnership with Kingswood Properties and the District of Squamish. Miyíw̓ts means "riverbank" in the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh sníchim (Squamish language). The park's name is in recognition of its position on the southeast side of the Mamquam Blind Channel, where a channel of the Squamish River once ended. This green space is a step forward in the transformation of a former industrial site into a walkable community that will have more than 1,500 homes, a daycare, amenity centre and a village plaza with retail and commercial spaces – all connected to Downtown Squamish by the future pedestrian bridge. • We're excited to share the first phase of SEAandSKY South, in partnership with Bosa Properties, is moving forward! The recent approval supports the addition of 1,062 new homes—301 market rentals and 25 below-market rental units—along with key community amenities. This will help address Squamish's low rental vacancy rate and offer a variety of housing options, making it easier for more people to live and work in the city. “Our partnership with Bosa Properties to bring the South half to realization marks a significant milestone for the SEAandSKY masterplan. Our shared vision for the community responds to Squamish’s rapid growth, with a clear focus on meeting the housing and amenity needs of current and future residents, while contributing to the district’s broader goal of creating sustainable, walkable neighbourhoods.” - Lorne R. Segal, Kingswood Properties President Construction is set to begin in fall 2025. We look forward to sharing more updates as the project progresses.
