The Department of Theatre at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is accepting applications for a full-time Teaching Assistant/Associate Professor specializing in Costume Technology, beginning August 2025. If you can demonstrate a commitment to teaching recognized theater industry standards as well as innovative approaches to problem solving in equitable and inclusive educational environments, you are encouraged to apply! An MFA in Costume Production or equivalent terminal degree in Theatre or related field or substantial professional working history, along with teaching experience or supervisory experience with emerging artists and students in training is essential. Three to five years of experience in costume production areas in professional or educational setting and at least three years supervisory experience, such as leading a team as a Theatrical Draper, Tailor or Pattern Maker is preferred. The Director of Campus Engagement, a core member of the Krannert team, acts as the direct link between campus activities and the performing arts at Krannert. Krannert Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to welcome Rachel Gladd to our staff as our new Performing Arts Events Coordinator! She will be responsible for managing the calendar for all our theatres and rehearsal spaces, as well as coordinating facility rentals. Born and raised right here in Urbana, Rachel graduated from The New School in New York City with a BFA in Musical Theater. She worked on various Off-Broadway productions as Assistant Production Manager with Atlantic Theater Company.
